Intex pool not compatible with Polaris vac-sweep cleaner

I have a polaris vac-sweep 65 pool cleaner and found it not compatible with my above ground metal frame intex swimming pool 15x48 in pool. the end of the hose from the Polaris cleaner is 1 1/2 in and does not fit the opening of my water return from the pool??? Is there anything I can do to modify this...arent these type of cleaners from Polaris supposed to be compatible with this type of pool? It is supposed to just thread into the opening (female opening)...but there are no threads on the inside of the water return on my pool...the threads here are on the outer edge of the return...what can I do to adapt this to fit my intex pool? Thanks

Polaris should have an adapter to make it fit, I'm surprised you didn't get one, usually an adapter is put in a box to make it work with multiple pools, you can call them and order one or go to a local hardware store or Menards and make your own. They will have PVC fitting adapters. You should be able to find one that will work which you may need to permanently attach it on the one end and custom fit it, but if you have basic skills, then you shouldn't have a problem with getting it to work. Let me know how this turns out.

Looking for a polaris pool cleaner that is compatable with an intex pool is there any? Or what to do?

If your looking for an "off the shelf" connector, good luck. Intex uses their special fittings that fit nothing. Although what I have found works well is the adapter that comes with the skimmer. I use it for our manual vacuum and it works great.

This is the adapter: Skimmer Plate

The Polaris 65 is a pressure side cleaner. The various configurations for the wall fitting (return fitting) are at this link: this adapter will get you to a standard 1/5" hose nipple. If you need something else you can go to Home Depot (or any other hardware store) and get a rubber coupler to adapt it to hard PVC fittings.
Something like this, but hardware store will have them in many sizes. Rubber Coupler
If the blue adapter I mentioned above works on your return(it should) then all you need is a 1.5"-1.5" rubber coupler and another piece that looks like the clean-out I linked to below. If you can find one that will fit directly into the rubber coupling, great, that's all you need. If not, you'll need a short piece of 1.5" pipe and a clean-out that slips over the pipe. The Polaris Universal Adapter will screw right into any 1.5" female threaded fitting.

1.5" Rubber Coupling

1.5" Clean-out You won't need the plug for your application.

Polaris 380 sweep hose isn't moving -- i have checked the sweep hose adjustment screw and it does't make a difference. the polaris unit is moving and vacuuming and there is water going through the sweep...

There are a few things to check with these pool cleaners. Make sure the opening at the end of the sweep hose is not blocked by the sweep hose scrubber. If you have any sweep hose weights, you might need to remove or adjust them.

My Polaris 280 pool cleaner trips the circuit breaker after 10-15 minutes of use.

This could be caused by an overloaded circuit. Make sure that you don't have too much stuff plugged into the outlet and try again.

Pool sweep wheels are not turning

Problems with the sweep hose on these pools cleaners usually just means that you need to do some fine tuning. Start by trying to adjust the sweep hose adjustment screw. To adjust, turn off the booster pump and turn the screw clockwise to decrease motion and counterclockwise to increase. You might also need to replace one or both of your swivel ball bearings (part #D20).

280 sweep hose does not sweep-drags behind unit-unit works fine-cleans pool

Make sure that the opening at the end of your pool cleaners sweep hose is not blocked by the sweep hose scrubber. If this does not work, you will need to adjust the sweep hose screw as mentioned above. The only thing that I would add about that is to make sure that you turn your booster pump off before you make adjustments. Hope this helps! I have a copy of the users manual for this model. Let me know if you need it and I can give it to you.
