Question about LG RU-44SZ61 44" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
I was told by LG that if the timer is not reset when replacing the bulb, the new bulb will net get the proper voltage and will prematurely burn out.
MY LG RT 44SZ23RB is loosing it's colour
I had a New lamp put in 2 years ago and never looked as good as it was, I complained but was told that it is right , could it be that the repair people used a inferior lamp if so what is the right lamp to put in

I have replaced many lamps in LG TV's and have NEVER heard that. The lamp is meant to be replaced by the consumer but the timer on LG's is ONLY resettable by a special service remote that technicians usually have. The timer has no effect on the voltage to the lamp.

Tips for a great answer:
The lamp timer on the Hitachi projector must be reset whenever the lamp has been replaced. The "Lamp" indicator on the display will light red or the "Change the Lamp" message will display when the lamp timer needs to be reset. Hitachi recommends that the lamp timer never be reset without replacing the lamp and to always reset the timer when the lamp is replaced. The message functions of the projector will not function properly if the lamp timer is not correctly reset.
Turn the power on. Press the "Reset" button for three seconds until the "Lamp xxxx hr" message appears on the lamp timer on the bottom of the screen.
Press the "Menu" button on the remote control while the lamp timer is displayed.
Press the left arrow button. Select "0" and wait until the timer display clears.
