Question about Samsung CLP-510 Laser Printer

Samsung Printer won't come on at all

I have a clp-510, and it's been working very well for the past couple of years. But lately when I turn the switch on, absolutely nothing happens, no screen, no error message, no lights. Just like it's not plugged in (it is, and the outlet is working). Then I try awhile later, and it works fine for a couple of days, then dies all over again. Any thoughts?

The screen takes about 90 seconds to to say initilazing system, then
after a few seconds there is a click from the corner where the psu
input is & then the printer shuts down compleatly.after another 90
seconds it will repeat this process (3 or 4 times) then i just dies. If
i uplug it for about 10 minutes it will just do the same again

I have the same problem. It has come back on after disconnecting the power, opening up the right panel (while facing the manual feed tray) removing the 2 screws and pushing slightly on the larger chips and all the connections aroung the edges of the card. Not sure where the loose connection is but just blindly pushing on them seems to work.

There are two possibly very different problems here.

Darkhorse892 probably has a power supply board with a 'dry joint' or faulty component - hence the 'leave it for a while and it works - for a short while.

Solution would be a replacement board - but there are two. A good used printer of the same type (so you can continue to use any consumables you have) might be the sensible and most economical way forward.

natrat Your problem should be fixed under warranty if it is only 2 months old !! Probably a faulty display/switch panel, or it has become partialy unplugged. Replacement display panels available on Ebay (where else!!) for a reasonable £15 GBP.

I went in to use my printer yester day (it is only 2 months old) and it would not print after checking the power and all of the other normal items I found that none of the lights were coming on and the screen on the front only had one black solid line across the top nothing else. I have plugged and unplugges, reset pulled everything apart and nothing helps can you give me any idea.

Samsung printer problems clp-510 I've had this printer for just over two years - good printer. However recently it is producing very dirty print outs, there are repeated patterns of smudges. What can I...

Too many things for just one solution, If transfer belt is worn out, you'll get that, color drums can cause that, when the fuser wears out toner sticks and transfers to new prints. You have to unplug machine in the middle of a print cycle before print goes into fuser and determine if the problem is fuser or before

Paper jam in tray 1

Hi glenpcr,

I had the same problem and solved it.
At my printer it was a problem of the MP-tray (multi purpose tray).
There are two hinges which keep the open MP-tray in a horizontal position. One of this hinges was broken and I just received it.
Just try it.

Samsung CLP-510 not printing?

Most probably you are using an USB cable that is either too thin (cheap cable) or too long (beyond 6ft.).

Fuser is too hot....

Samsung fuser units are very suceptible to voltage variations and get damaged easily. The fuser's thermofuse probably got damaged and became unable to read temperature. The only way to get it fis is to replace the fuser in an Authorized Service Center (ASC). Your unit has a 1 year complete warranty coverage by Samsung and any real ASC without charging you.

After the unit is fixed, get a good transient surge suppresor to help protect the unit. Good luck.
