Why does window media player recognize my music cd as a blank cd?

It's not reading it properly. Try a different CD. If this keeps happening, try downloading Media Player again. There may be a glitch in the links.

I have a 2001 Honda Crv, the cd player keeps ejecting CDs before it has the chance to load them. The radio works fine, and I gave tried burnt and original disc CDs. Can anyone suggest a solution?

Are these CDs that you burned yourself? Older CD players won't recognize the audio file format of this kind of recording, only the established file format that typical retail CDs have used for years. In recent years, CD players have been developed to recognize more file types than just the old format; but with an older player like you have in your car, it wouldn't recognize what you were trying to play, as if you put a DVD in. It balks, and spits it out. You can burn CDs with the correct file format, you just need the appropriate software or file translator.

Does not recognize disk

Either:
* the disk you're inserting is not "empty" -- try it on a different computer;
* you should try a different manufacturer of "blank" disks;
* you need to upgrade the "firmware" inside your CD-writer, to recognize more brands of "blank" media;
* the CD-reader is malfunctioning -- when you "cancel" the burn-attempt, and insert a commercially-produced program CD or commercially-produced audio CD, can those disks be properly read?
* you have two CD/DVD devices in your computer, and you're inserting the "blank" disk into the "wrong" device.

CD-R can open on my macbook just fine and I can burn files and songs onto them, but anything blank DVD won't be recognize by my computer, it will just spit it out.

Have you tried more than one brand of blank dvd-r?

--You could try using a cd / dvd cleaner disc but if that doesn't work then it's quite possible that the dvd portion of the laser has gone out. It would have to be replaced for full functionality.

One more thing you could try if you're feeling bold would be to find the firmware version of the drive and upgrade the firmware.

Let me know if you need more help or have any other questions, thoughts, etc.

Cd burn error apple mac mini

Did you use the same Maxell blank CD's in the other mini?
If so, it sounds like your drive may be failing/failed. Try another brand of CD in the superdrive just in case. I have found that drives that are beginning to fail will have problems with some brands but not others. Sometimes they'll go totally dead a while after that point, others will still be ok with another brand that they "like" more.

Kim,  I'm glad you asked this.  I have had problems with my superdrive as well.  What I found out through persistent research is this:     The new Superdrives can take CD+R and DVD+R.  (I am assuming you are asking about recording?   However, the older models of Superdrives ---usually found in Powerbook G4s, can take CD-R and DVD-R.  These are different from the first ones ini that they are slower to burn, and just a few gb short of space than the +.  this should help solve the problem with taking new cds and dvds for burning.  The superdrive tends to just spit these right back out.  If you are referring to playing them, then have you tried cleaning the dirty ones?  Check the help section at www.apple.com.  they have wonderful solutions.  Try to put in a couple new cds or dvds to play.  Open up itunes or the dvd player before you put the disks in.  If you're still having trouble, make use of that warranty and go to your nearest apple store to fix it right up! Hope this helps!

LaCie DVD Burner Not Doing Much of Anything

You should check for corruption of your CD/DVD burning software from whereever you got it. Sometimes some burning software isn't good enough to work adequately. I'd test some new burning software to see if that is the problem, if upbrading your burning software doesn;t do the trick. You can downlowad free trials of Roxio, NTI, and other good burners to test this hypothesis. And, of course, try calling LaCie support.
