Might be to a broken loading belt, or damaged loading gear wheels. Check it. If gear wheel is faulty, it will be best to repalce the disc loading mechanism.

DVD NOT RECEIVING DVD DISCS

Hello
The loading mechanism has the trouble. The inserted CD or DVD does not engage into the laser assembly unit properly. It may be due some fault with its loading motor or loading belt. Check these.

Combination tv/dvd player- dvd won't eject yet plays dvd

Always unplug any electrical device before tampering with it!!!!!!! You must remove the two screw in the back of the TV behind where the dvd goes in and out of. Using a flat headed screw driver pry at the seams very gently until it pops. Continue this around the edges until the piece becomes un-attached, (except for the cord, DO NOT UNPLUG THIS!! just let it hang loose. Then get a pair of large tweezers and hold them in front of the slot. (you may want to practice this a couple times by watching the disc and where it stops to see where to grab it with the tweezers), when your ready, hit the eject button and wait a second then stick the tweezers in the slot just far enough until you can grab the dvd with the tweezers. The face of the disc may have a sticker or remaining adhesive from a sticker that is messing with the functioning. You would need to scrape all of it off with a razor blade. (as long it is not the side the recording is on!!) Replace the housing by setting the clips closest to the screen side and the remaining after. screw the screws back in and see if it worked!! If this doesn't fix your problem, call Sharp and ask them if its financial wise to sent in in to them.

Problem w/ dvd drive in dell xps 1530

The drive may be damaged but to eject the cd manually turn off the power and there is a small hole around the face of the drive. You can use a straightened paperclip to push in the hole and it should eject the cd. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thx

Dell xps m1330 dvd drive will not eject cd inside

Im a dell tech, and i hate those cdrom styles, but, that is what the consumer wants, so we make them. Try starting the machine, then press F2 to enter the BIOS. once in the bios, press the eject button. listen for any noises, (an attempt to eject). if you hear a sound, it means the drive should be capable of ejecting the disc, and perhaps the disc has not seated correctly. If the disc will not eject, you must contact Dell. This is from the DELL dcse site: " Optical Drive The XPS M1330 has a slot-loading optical drive instead of a conventional tray-loading module. There is no mechanical eject mechanism for the drive to eject stuck discs. This means you must replace the drive if a disc gets stuck in the drive. After replacing the drive, disassemble the old drive to remove the disc for the customer."
