Question about Crosley CAWC529JQ Top Load Washer
I have Crosley CAWC529JQ1 top load washer. It washes fine, but when it spins it makes a brief but loud scraping noise once for each revolution. When it gets going fast, it is louder than a cement mixer!!!
At the end of the spin cycle, when the brake operates, the same-sounding noise is continuous until the spin stops.
That seems to narrow the noise source to the brake mechanism.
I don't know what damping pads do, but I think the brake band area might be misaligned somehow, and the brake band padding has worn out, thus is now scraping metal-to-metal once per revolution. I'll take a look, and post what I find ...
Anybody else had that problem? What was your solution?
Sounds lik the main bearings are faulty and needs a strip down to replace parts otherwise another machine may be in order
