I soaked the charcoal filter, then put it in, after washing out the water reservoir. I took a paperclip into what holes I could find, and - after ensuring I wouldn't be damaging anything - poked it around, although - brand new - there shouldn't be any coffee grounds anywhere. No matter how many times I do this, when all of the lights (including POWER) are ON, I click the 8oz Button, the lights flash a bunch of times, then the machine makes noises like it's starting the process... Only, it stops, as though it filled my cup with delicious coffee, when all it's filled my cup with is....well, nothing. How do I gauge whether the issue is fixable or not? I bought this, at my own expense, for my supervisor and I to use at work, and said supervisor will be in the office in about an hour, and the old coffee pot we were using was already discarded. HELP!

Finally, I got my coffee pot to run through without stopping several times. To fix it I had to run vinegar through eight times! Never before has it taken so many cycles to clean out a pot. It is still spluttering a bit so today I am going to get more vinegar or maybe even CLR and run it through a few more times.

Loosen the charcoal filter. You only need to GENTLY place it in. Your problems will all be solved. I just did it 5 minutes ago and i just brewed a 6 cup pot of coffee completely.

I don't have a solution but have just experienced the same problem and am baffled. I am using the same beans same grind. In fact using the exact same grind it went from great one day to weak the next day. I always run it for 15 - 16 secs to get the shot and that hasn't changed. Pressure and temperature appear fine. I cleaned the top of the top filter which was a little dirty but not seriously bad - no change. The coffee flow which is normally chocolate coloured to start with is just mid brown.

It may not help but won't hurt; put a couple of cups of plain vinegar into the water chamber, turn on briefly until it starts to pump, then turn off and leave overnight - at least, if not longer. The mild acid content may clear some lime buildup.
