IBM problem reporting database

All,

 While giving solution sto some problems ,IBM
 suggests us to refer to problem reporting databases
 to find a fix.
 Can anyone pls guide on how to refer to these
 problem reporting database?

Mary, most products/vendors have a web site with a technical support
portal.  If you are licensed for the product in question, you usually
have access to the problem database for it.  This is true sometimes even
if you are not licensed.  However, in some cases, you might have to go
through some administrative steps to get an account set up before they
will let you inside.

So, how do you find these web sites?  Well, believe it or not,
www.google.com is an excellent place to start.  Merely enter the product
or vendor name and the URLs will be displayed.  I would estimate a 99%
hit ratio to find the sites you need.  Then, just click the URL from
Google and drill down to the problem database.  The websites also have
"contact us" buttons which usually display toll free numbers where you
can call for navigation assistance to find the page you want.
