Follow the instructions below and it will work.

Disconnect the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the CD or Downloaded software program.

When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.

Then to use it on the Web, do this.
Web Camera’s have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.

Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.

A. Skype Setup:

After downloading and installing Skype (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/windows/beta/downloading/) set it up as follows:

1. Go to Tools, then Options, and click on Audio Settings and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
2. Then click on the Video Settings.
3. The camera if Installed Properly will come up and show a video picture.
4. Then, on the bottom of the page click on Save.

The camera and audio should function properly. Your friends and Family will now be able to see and her to you.

B. Yahoo Setup:

After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger (http://www.soft32.com/download_30.html ) set it up as follows:

1. Go to Messenger at the top left and click on it.
2. Next go down to Preferences and click on it.
3. Next Calling and Devices on the right and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
4. Next go to the Test Audio section and (in blue writing) click on “Open the call setup assistant” and follow the instructions on the left window.

C. Windows Live Messenger:

1. After you start Windows Live Messenger, expand the view by clicking on the square on top left next to the red X.
2. Then on the Windows Live messenger window on the right side, click on “ “Show Menus.” And then click on “Show the Menu Bar”.
3. Next go to the Menu Bar on right side, click on “ “Action.”
4. Go to “TOOLS” and click “Audio and Video Setting” and follow the instructions.
NOTE: Your audio and video should work. Enjoy.

When done both the Audio and Video will function properly so you can chat and see family or friends you are connected to.

D. AIM (AOL) Messenger

1. On the VIM sign-in window click on Edit.
2. Then click on Settings Enhanced IM.
3. Next click on Enhanced IM.
4. Then click on Audio Video.
5. The Audio and Video portion has drop downs so you can select the proper audio card and video camera installed in you computer.
The Audi Video drop downs are
Microphone
Speaker
Camera

Adjust Your Audio and Video Settings:
In order to adjust your audio and video settings, please follow the steps given below:
1. Click the Audio and Video Settings button directly below the My Buddy or My Camera window. If you are currently participating in an AOL Live Video IM session, a message will display: You must disconnect the current AOL Live Video IM conversation before running setup. Would you like to disconnect now? Click the Yes button.
2. The Audio and Video Tuning Wizard will appear to help you verify that your camera, speakers and microphone are working properly. Follow the on-screen prompts.
Notes:
· The first time you use AOL Live Video IM, a message will display: Would you like to first check your audio and video settings? Click the Yes button. The Audio and Video Tuning Wizard will appear to help you verify that your camera, speakers and microphone are working properly. Follow the on-screen prompts.
· images in AOL Live Video IM may appear reversed, or as a mirror image (text may appear backwards) when you look at your own camera feed or at the picture-in-picture (PIP) display.
After making the settings your ready for a chat and video talk with your Family and Friends.

After you get your camera installed properly, DO NOT unplug it from the USB port as it will cause
the drivers to be corrupt and render the camera unusable till reinstalled it properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Perhaps because the installation disc is a CD rather than a DVD. Another possibility is that the Notebook drive cannot read the CD correctly.

Why is lt27 netbook stop installing on office 2010

YOu probably don't have enough harddrive space... 160GB s not enough these days to do anything. Buy an internal HDD adapter from Tiger Direct (it has a USB plug in that lets you read it like a flashdrive) and another NEW internal HDD for your laptop from them... remember there are two sizes, the smaller one is for laptops. Put the new HDD in, 500GB minimum please. A faster spool up speed is better than a slower one. Put the new HDD in and insert the original Genuine Windows CD ROM in the CD-ROM bay and install the operating system into you new HDD. (Make sure you have the activation code.) Go to Microsoft Update and let it update the operating system for you. You will have Internet Explorer only as a browser until you install another. Install Oracle's Java first, Adobe's Acrobat Reader and Flashplayer and go to the Gateway support site to download any specific hardware updates from your PC, if available. Then you can check Hardware Devices to check for any yellow marks. Finally, install an enjoy using MS Office 2010.

I can find my product key for my hp g61

The system is brand new of course?Brand new HP systems comes with a recovery media saved inside one of your local disks named Recovery. NEVER tamper with that partition as it will affect your system and the recovery files inside will not work any although HP Protected that partition. Your product key will be automatically installed if the recover your computer properly, but may ask for product key if you formatted the computer with external windows that is not validated by Microsoft.
To solve the problem,
Get windows activator or buy Genuine Windows from Microsoft

New Motherboard and Processor with existing system recovery. How do you get around the system recovery balking to the new Motherboard?

Based on what you are saying, I am assuming that you have put this new Motherboard in an existing branded computer (HP,Compaq, Gateway). The full factory recover that comes with these computers will only run on a mother board that has been "branded". The only way to "brand" a mother board thru the manufacturer directly (legally).

With that said you have a valid installation key printed on the computer. You can install your operating system (matching the os listed on the key, example Windows Vista) from a standard OS CD. When prompted for the installation key just type in the one off the label. This will install the operating system only. You will have to install drivers for all your hardware. You may also be prompted by Microsoft for a different installation key. If this happens, there is an 800 # you can call them at (listed on the pop up screen). Inform them you have changed out the motherboard and such and they will give you a code to clear the install key error.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Can i use my emachine recovery disk on my gateway after i install a new hard drive on my gateway?

No, you can't. (Well, it might be possible, but very unlikely, that it would work.) Recovery discs are made for specific machines. There are a couple of reasons why the discs for one system can't be used for another brand or model.

In addition to installing the operating system (Windows), recovery discs also include drivers for the machine's included hardware (video, sound, media card slots, etc.). The drivers on the recovery disc for an eMachines system won't have what a Gateway system needs, unless they were built using exactly the same motherboard and other parts, which would be quite unusual. If wrong hardware drivers are installed, Windows may not start and give you the famous "blue screen of death". Or Windows will start, then begin finding new hardware and asking you for drivers you won't have (although you could find them at the Gateway website). The discs also include the applications the manufacturer preloaded on the system. Some of these may not work and cause problems because of the hardware differences (a sound control program with the wrong sound hardware, for instance).

The other reason is that a restore disc also includes information that gets placed into Windows so the system comes up already activated and ready to go. Activation is based on information about the hardware configuration of the system, and yours won't be correct. Windows will see the this and you'll need to activate manually. If the Windows version on the eMachines recovery disc isn't exactly the same as the one on the Gateway, the product key on the computer won't work when you try activation.

Rather than try using the wrong recovery disc, see if you can borrow or download the installation disc for the Windows version specified on the product key sticker on the Gateway. Then you can do a clean new Windows installation and activate it using the product key. You can find the drivers your computer needs at Gateway's website as I mentioned before. It's more work than just running the recovery disc, but it will work. This does mean the system won't have any of the preloaded applications originally on the computer when you're finished. But this is not a bad thing.

Much of the preloaded stuff on a new computer is often called "bloatware", which you really don't need. It just slows the computer down, uses up Windows resources, and may be gathering information and sending it to sites behind your back. You can find good free programs to do anything originally installed and install only what you really need and want. Here are a few suggestions to get you started:

CD/DVD burning: CDBurnerXP
Antivirus: AVG, Avast!
Audio processing: Audacity
Image processing: GIMP
Office suite: OpenOffice

Good luck getting the system back up and running. Thanks for using Fixya!

My windows xp home edition has crashed and i have no recovery cd

Find a friend with either a "retail" Windows XP Home Edition CD-ROM disk,
or with an 'OEM' ("original equipment manufacturer") equivalent.

Use that disk, plus the 25-character product-key on the label on the side of your computer,
to reinstall Windows, or first to try to "repair" your installed copy of Windows.

Or, if you have a "brand-name" computer (Dell, HP, IBM, Lenovo, Acer, Gateway, eMachines)
telephone the manufacturer, and order a replacement "System Restore" set of CD-ROM disks.
Probably about $20, plus $20 for overnight-courier.
