Question about Coleman Mach III Air Conditioner

Found leak I have a Coleman Mach Mod# 6759-707, which has a leak in a small canister in the line between the condenser and evaporator on the opposite side of the compressor line. What is this and where can I get one?

Clean the drain holes ?


Get a vacuum cleaner and **** any dirt from the end of the drain hose. If you can access under the evaporator from the side, clean the base tray as well.

My coleman rv ac unit is dripping condensation inside the camper, what is causing that?


It is possible that the drain hole on condensate pan is plugged and causing water to over flow pan. Remove cover from unit and check drain line.Clean coils andpan as best you can and clear drain hole. Add a small amount of bleach to water in drain pan.This will kill any algea or bacteria that may be growing in condensate water and plugging the drain. Thank you

Code says evaporator purge solenoid


Which code specifically? Do not assume you need a new solenoid. Our recommendation will depend on the specific code and some troubleshooting results. I usually recommend checking over all the EVAP vacuum lines and the gas cap too whenever there is a purge valve code. Check the vacuum lines at the cannister in the left rear bumper. I will paste info on the purge solenoid below.

Evaporative Emission Purge Solenoid

Description & Operation
The duty cycle EVAP canister purge solenoid (DCP) regulates the rate of vapor flow from the EVAP canister to the intake manifold. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) operates the solenoid.
During the cold start warm-up period and the hot start time delay, the PCM does not energize the solenoid. When de-energized, no vapors are purged. The PCM de-energizes the solenoid during open loop operation.
The engine enters closed loop operation after it reaches a specified temperature and the time delay ends. During closed loop operation, the PCM cycles (energizes and de-energizes) the solenoid 5 or 10 times per second, depending upon operating conditions. The PCM varies the vapor flow rate by changing solenoid pulse width. Pulse width is the amount of time that the solenoid is energized. The PCM adjusts solenoid pulse width based on engine operating condition.
Removal & Installation
The duty cycle evaporative (EVAP) canister purge solenoid is located in the engine compartment near the brake master cylinder.

  1. Disconnect electrical connector at solenoid.
  2. Disconnect vacuum lines at solenoid.
  3. Lift solenoid slot from mounting bracket for Removal & Installation.

To Install:
  1. Position solenoid slot to mounting bracket.
  2. Connect vacuum lines to solenoid. Be sure vacuum lines are firmly connected and not leaking or damaged. If leaking, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may be set with certain emission packages.
  3. Connect electrical connector to solenoid.

Coleman Mach AC drops condensation when shut off


Your AC's drain port could be on the opposite corner from where the water is building up. Your vehicle absolutely has to be level, this pertains to the refridgerator also. Good luck, my friend, Dana

Appears to be condensation leaking from the Carrier roof A/C in 2009 Pleasure Way Plateau RV. Leaks on back bed and floor. Thanks, Richard


there should be a pan under the evaporator coil in the roof mounted unit, the pan should have a hose on it to remove the water to a non objectionable place, you need to locate the drain and pressure it up to clear it, I would also remove the top covaer and check the cleanliness of the coil drain pan itself

Should there be a condensation hose of some sort. I have a leak and can't find where water is coming from


These units do not have condensation "hoses", they have an evaporator pan than is located under the evaporator coil and catches the condensation and then lets it drip down onto the roof and then off the RV. If your AC is leaking into the inside, remove the inner shroud and feel up into the evaporator area for the pan. If it is full, then the drain holes are plugged. They are not easy to get to. Remove the upper shroud and then remove the front cover over the evaporator. At the base of this area is the pan, on each end is the drain hole. Clean them out and all should be fine.

Coleman tsr rv air conditioner leaks into rv when running


It probably has a clogged condensate drain. Take off the cover on top the RV and check hoses or tubes leaving unit for debris or lint. Often this water is used to help cool the condenser so look for leaves pine needles etc in the pan. There may be a cover you can remove on the evaporator section that will allow you to clean the collection pan and hose or trough. Is it possible the RV is far enough out of level that the condensate can't "run uphill"? Always power off while working on this unit unless you are electric savvy. Good luck!

At a State park... AC freezing up


If the unit is low on freon, there should be visible signs of leaking somewhere in the upper unit. Are you running the system on Low Cool? This will often times cause the AC to freeze up because the condenser fan and the evaporator fan are on the same motor. If you run the system on low cool, you are not getting enough air movement over your condenser to effectively warm up the freon and thus causing the system to freeze. Turn it to high and adjust the thermostat if it is too cold, this should help.

How to charge coleman mach-3 a/c roof unit 134 or 22


If it needs a charge the leak has to be found and fixed. If the leak has been fixed and you have a service valve on the low side. It should have a vacuum pulled on the system to remove all air and non-condensable gases from the system. Then you can charge the system : 1. by weight according to the name plate. 2. charge by superheat (temperature leaving the evaporator + 16°F) When using the superheat method to charge the higher the Ambient temperature the lower the superheat difference will be.
