How to thread the needle

Can be done in different ways. I use a needle thread starter. I also use a method of feeling the nettle and the tread. Cut the tread for a clean end, place the tread between your thumb and finger so that you can not see the tread. Place the needle in the other hand with the eye of the needle horizontal to your thumb and finger. With your eyes closed you can feel your way to the tread with the eye of the needle, pushing the eye of the needle over the tread. You have treaded the needle. It takes some practice, but when you get it, it's a good trick to show someone that is having a hard time treading the needle. You can do it with your eyes closed.

Embroidery machine bobbin not picking up thread

If you thread is coming out all tangled continue.
I Had this problem and found I had missed one leg of the threading.
I had an experienced seamstress look at our portable and could not get bobbin working. I took thread and redid it ,seems I had missed leg that went down.
she did to now all is well.

Needle will not come out of machine

Your bobbin and shuttle is full of debris or stucked up threads. Try removing your bobbin case slowly and take off all the debris by a nose plier. Do not attempt to remove debris with your bare hands. Your might be pricked by the needle too bad you will have to go to the hospital with the machine in your hand. Remember to wear safety goggles.

How to fix needle on a machine

Turn the hand-wheel counterclockwise until the needle is at the highest point. Lower the guide or presser foot. This will give the maximum room possible for working with the needle.
Turn the needle clamp screw counterclockwise until the needle comes loose. This screw is located on the side of the small
box, known as the needle clamp, that holds the needle in place.
Remove the old needle by pulling it straight down and then angling it outward. Place a new needle into the holding slot or needle clamp.
Tighten the new needle into place by turning the clamp screw clockwise until tight. Do not over-tighten the needle.


Here's a tip
Use a needle that is appropriate for the type of fabric you are sewing. Using the wrong needle may result in breakage and increase the number of needles to be changed
Over-tightening a needle can cause it to be crooked and break. Turn the clamp screw only until the needle feels stiff in place.

The needle broke with a large noise, and went into the bobbin casing area. I could not find the broken needle at first. After gently moving the wheel back and forth the needle fell through and I was able...

It sounds like the needle did some damage in there. Hopefully, it only shifted something around, but if you can't find a loose part that needs to be tightened back into place, look for a rough edge or surface somewhere. This may require a trip to a repair person.

How to thread a Viking Huskey Model 140

Remove the needle.
The flat of the needle goes toward the back of the machine, make sure that there is a groove in the front of the needle (that goes to the top of the shank).

Reduce the tension to low (2-3). Gradually increase tension to get a proper stitch.

Its easy but you must do it exactly like what i say
A - put (1) into the handle so that the pitch goes in to the gear of the handle -make sure that (1) goes in to the handle like this shape 9
after instalation of this "check spring" , u need to bend twist it clockwise little bit so that u improvise the spring in its place (approximately 45 degree)
from now u need to hold the (1) with something so that doesnt move (screw driver or long needle )
B - (12) while u hold the "check spring" with needle , u need to open up its legs so that number (12) which is callled thread controler ( because im not familiar with terms so i explain- haha - it has two Rod, small and large Rod) small rod must go into the hole

c - (10) while u hold the "check spring" with needle , u need to open up its legs so that number (10) it goes through the handle - make sure its top hole goes into the black rod which comes out of the sweing machine - note that u must embed it in the manner that bigger peripheral put in the right hand side.

d - (5) while u hold the "check spring" with needle , u need to open up its legs so that number (5disk) goes through the handle
e - (6) while u hold the "check spring" with needle , u need to open up its legs so that number (6disk) goes through the handle
f - (11) while u hold the "check spring" with needle , u need to open up its legs so that number (11) goes through the handle
g - (9) while u hold the "check spring" with needle , u need to open up its legs so that number (9) goes through the handle - make sure its top half circle hole goes through the black rod which came out from the sewing machine.
h - (7) here you dont need to open the check spring needle . so release its leg and put the plastic male into the handle while males go in to the hole of (9)
