Question about Creative Labs ZEN V Plus MP3 Player
So my Creative V Zen won't turn on at all, even when i plug it into the computer. And the reset button doesn't work either. Any help?
Ok I had same problem, Zen V Plus wouldn't switch on, when plugged into PC no lights came nothing, absolutly dead. Found this on another website and well i'll be jiggered it worked, hope it does for you too.
Plug it into the PC, hold the power switch in the 'on' position, THEN trigger the reset button, (hold it in for a few seconds). make sure you feel the reset button depress.

I fixed it!! Totally died and wouldnt turn on. ehen plugged in only flashing blue light from play button. Plugged it into charger, held down play button and switched power to on. hold it. a reboot screen will come up, select last option. working fine now just needs charging. didnt lose file either, yay!

Holing down power button and reset didn't work for me. I Took out the Media card and held down power and reset and it worked.

Thanks lambo! my player had both the back and play buttons with the lights on non stop but the player didnt have any reaction! when i tried your solution my player worked again. THANKS!

You might have to take out the media card more than one time but it worked for me.

Same problem here...none of the solutions worked...but this one I found....it's the computer not the zen (i didn't think this would work but after i did this it started charging and turned on right away)

If you have windows set to do automatic updates, you most likely had a windows update installed that caused this conflict with Win Media Player 11. No fix has been posted by Microsoft yet, so the only workaround is to Uninstall/Rollback Windows Media Player 11. Goto <Control Panel<Add/Remove Programs and remove Windows Media Player 11. Follow prompts, restart computer when prompted to. Also uninstall Windows Media Player 11 Runtime application following same procedure above.
This will roll your Windows Media Player back to version 10 or 9, whichever you had installed prior to version 11. You will need to re-configure Windows Media Player again.
Your Zen should now be recognized by WMP and Creative software. You probably need to upgrade your firmware at this point, follow the instructions on upgrading your firmware, and you should be good to go.
This is a windows problem, not a creative problem. Dont blame Creative for the screwed up hotfixes that Microsoft puts out on a regular basi

That happened to me. It was weird though, as it turned out there was no battery. I had turned it on and was listerning to it, and it had full battery, and then suddenly all the power was drained from it. I left it 48 hours, and then connected it to the computer.
Now it works great.

My creatice zen is compleatly dead. i tryed the reset button an pluged it in and even turn it on and had it plunged in and reset it all the same time. i havs froizen before but never like this. needs to be fixed. please help!!!!!! thank you!

I had the same problem. Tried recharging from both PC and mains recharger. Tried re-setting and re-charging. All I got was the blue charging light pulsing on and off. The ZEN would not charge. Eventually I tried a Software re-set. (Slide the on/off button to the On position and hold it there whilst hitting the re-set button). I then tried re-charging and everything was fine. (It did take about 10 - 15 mins recharing from the PC before the device did actually respond, but that is normal after it is fully discharged)
Cannot guarantee the above will work every time or for everyone, but it saved me returning it to Creative and an eight week wait.

My Zen locked when I turned it on. It wouldn't play the track the screen was on so I pressed the reset button and turned it on again. It was then still locked on the same track so I tried turning it off which then froze as it was shutting down. After another reset it went through the rebuild screen then locked again. I then used the above fix (pin in reset, then hold play and power switch down). Taking me into the kind of bios screen I formatted the contents. Then added my library again. It's now working fine.
This is the second Zen I've had because the first one had the same problem so I took it back without trying to fix it. Both times the problem occured when I had my Zen plugged into my car stereo auxiliary jack whilst switching the ignition on in my car. I can't understand why this would cause the problem but I'll avoid doing that in future.

I won't delete them. It should just turn your player off and then it will work just fine once you turn it on again.
Though I suppose I should mention that I found this thread because I'm looking to find how the reset button works... because I just used mine when my player was seriously jacked up and now it won't even turn on at all. But not to scare you, you shouldn't have that problem (and if you do your player's beyond saving anyways).
