Question about IBM Computers & Internet
This could be due to one of 3 things:
Your battery could have gone bad. They normally have a life of perhaps 3 years, but shouldn't suddenly just quit. They gradually have less and less time between charges.
Second, it could be your power adapter. Get a voltmeter and take a reading of the voltage that comes out of it. Should be around 18 volts, If I remember correctly.
Third: It's the motherboard--the charging circuit in the computer itself.
So--if it suddenly quit charging, the battery is "probably" not the problem. Now rule out the adapter. Finally, replace the motherboard.
