Look in a Setup menu for a Channel Scan or Auto Scan selection. You may have to set an Input or Antenna setting to the appropriate input (cable or antenna)

Why is the Goodmans digital box remote not changing the channels or volume on My Daewoo TV?

Think about it. The digibox remote should only change its own channels, not the TV ones. Otherwise the TV would never be on the correct channel to see the digibox signal.

As for the volume, unless the Goodmans remote is programmable to emulate the TV volume, then it will just change its own volume. The result is the same. The TV gets louder or quieter.

How to setup Toshiba CT824 tv with digibox (I have no user manual)

Hello,

You can connect the digibox (digital converter box) or DTA to the TV using coax jumpers and tuning the TV set to channel 3 or 4 in some cases.

Connect the input (wire from the wall or floor) to the input on the digital box.

Connect the output of the digital box to the input of the TV set.

Turn on TV and digital box, tune TV to channel 3 using the TV remote or the buttons on the TV itself.

Use the digital box remote to change channels. You may need a code to program the remote to work the TV set.

I hope this helped.
Cheers!

I now cant get bbc 1,2 ,3, on my free view box it wont tune in

When TV channels are moved from one frequency to another frequency that was previously used by a different channel (sorry, but there's no simple way of saying that !) as has happened recently in th UK, some digital TVs and digiboxes struggle to sort the channel list out properly and channels can go missing as you describe.

If your equipment has the option to delete all currently stored channels (normally in the tuning menu options) then do so and then do a full re-tune.
Sometimes, this solves the problem as the equipment is no longer aware of any previous use of a frequency and just loads every channel it finds.

If this doesnt work, or your equipment doesnt have the option, then there is normally the option soemwhere in the menus to retore the item to "factory defaults/configuration". This will clear all previously stored channels and after a full re-tune your missing chanels should be there. However, any other configuration changes you previously made, e.g picture size, output type (RGB/NSCT/etc), etc will be lost and you'll need to set these again.

NB. some regions of the country have lost some channels temporarily now until after the switch over programme completes at the end of 2012. If you visit the Freeview website, this will tell you if your area is affected.

Lg tv interferes with my virgin media box. channels change on their own, turns on and off, and generally goes mad. not the remote. removed batteries and had new. had new box off virgin and still the same....

I had the same problem so I moved the virgin media box to behind the LG TV. Problem solved as an infra red sent out by the TV on power up doesnt affect the digibox anymore.. ;0)

Sound goes off for long periods of time, then comes on unexpectedly. This is happening since yesterday 6/17/09, five days after systems conversion from analog to digital on 6/12/09.

The changeover should not show up this way. Also, the changeover only effected those that use an external antenna. If you have cable or satelite, the changeover should not have effected you at all. If the set is no longer under warranty, you could check for poor solder connections. These tend to be effected by heat. Have you noticed any particular pattern to when the sound goes off? In other words, does the set need to be in use for a long time before the sound cuts out?

Please update this and we'll look further.

If the unit is still under warranty, report the problem as an intermittant one. That way if not completely resolved within the warranty period, the "problem" should be covered anyway.

TRIAX DVB2000T set top box cannot find any channels today. have checked aerial seems ok.the box is now about 5 years old and has never let us down before

Did a search and found out that my digibox along with some other makes are no longer able to receive any channels because of an update by Freeview. This has resulted in thousands of people unable to receive any programmes at all in Scotland as their signals are all digital in some regions,I live in Durham and the changes have already reached here. This is being rolled out down the country over the next week.
No doubt we will not hear anything in the news about this change untill it reaches London, then people will be concerned.
