I have the same problem. How do you restart the camera. I have pulled the battery and SD card, but can't get to a menu screen to restart to camera.

The following blog outlines some repair options for a lens error. They won't work for all cases, but they're worth a try if the camera's no longer under warranty:

SOURCE: camera shuts off after E18 error code

You have most likely dropped the camera or banged it against something while the lens was out. This situation causes the brass pinion gear to shear teeth off the plastic ring gear on the Inner Lens Housing. It may also cause the guide pins to jump their track. If this is the case the repair bill usually exceeds the value of the camera and you are probably better off selling it for parts on eBay and getting a new higher resolution camera.

SOURCE: lens error, restart camera canon powershot

The best thing to do is to first try restarting the camera. Do not push or pull on the lens as this will often cause other issues. Do not blow air in the lens as this generally moves any dirt or dust to the back and it sits on your imaging sensor, you'll end up with poor photos after that. The best thing to do is to have it serviced so it is fixed correctly and working the way it should be. The site that is great for the Powershot Models is: www.CamerasAndParts.com They only specialize in these Powershots and they have your exact lens error problem right on the site. Try them for help. They tend to be the best deal plus they're service is wonderful. You'll pay $89 for the repair, all of the service for that model and the return shipping back to you included with them. They'd be the place for help with this one, best of luck.

Downloading photos from powershot Sx60 using a cable. Do I need to download a program first?

No. Your camera should appear as a hard drive, and you can use the computer's drag-and-drop to move the pictures to the folder of your choice.

I want the user manual

The manual usually comes with the camera. If you did not receive one, you should return to the store where you bought it and ask for the manual.
You can often download a manual for almost any equipment by Googling the make and model followed by the word Manual, then follow the appropriate link(s).

Displays "lens Error"

This is probably THE single most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html
