Main system control memory IC fault. This is a very small IC; have 8 solder terminals, and can be located very near to the main system control-chroma IC. Check and replace it. Be sure to replace it with the same number printed on it; in all respect. Otherwise, it won't go. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Before replacing it, try a reset to this set, and then check.
There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here.

Toshiba LCD TV 37AV502U wont change channels buttons on side unresponsive

Hi Michael,
The buttons themselves might be defective but it is very unlikely that all of them would become defective at the same time.
I would suggest to open the TV and check for any loose connections between the main board and the buttons board assembly.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

Toshiba smart tv stuck on one channel tried new remote wont change channel went back to old remote still the same

Did you try changing the source? It might be getting the channel from a source other than the TV.

My Toshiba 37av502u loses it's settings

As goofy as this might seem, a large accumulation of dust inside the TV chassis could be the culprit. The dust becomes conductive and drains the charge from the capacitor that keeps the memory "alive" while the set is powered off. I'm a 40+ year veteran TV technician, but I've specialized almost exclusively in antique (1940's to 1970's) all vacuum tube sets for the past 15 years. I can get a dead 1946 RCA 630TS 10" B/W TV (worth about $2,500 as an antique) working again with about 10 hours of bench time. My new roommate, a lady I've known since we were kids, brought a Toshiba 37AV502U with the same "loses its memory" symptom when she started renting my spare bedroom recently. I opened it up looking for a bulging electrolytic capacitor or a dead RTC battery like some computer motherboards. I didn't find any suspicious capacitors and the only batteries this set uses are the AAA cells in the remote. What I did find was A LOT of dust inside the set. Cleaned the dust out, put it back together, and the set is holding its memory now when powered off. Obviously, the dust was creating a shunt path that was bleeding the charge away from the capacitor that stores charge for the memory.

My toshiba tv is stuck on initial setup menu, language selection. original remote is not working

Hi,, today i got the solution for the problem 'Tv Stuck On Language Screen"
I have Skyworth Lcd and it was stuck on Language screen 4 days back, i've tried every sigle App and Different Universal Remotes and buttons on Tv but nothing was working except a single App named "SURE UNIVERSAL REMOTE FOR TV"
i suggest if someone face this Language screen stucking problem and no buttons and remotes are working then you should download this App on your Cell phone and select your tv and you'll surely be able to restore your Tv.

My remote control for my polaroid tv wont change channels up and down.the channel button isnt working for the tv.everything else is working.

You may be able to program your cable box remote to control your TV in addition to your cable box. When they initially set up your cable box they probably left a pamphlet giving you instructions on how to program your remote. I'm not sure why you can't change the TV channels manually but this may give you a work-around.
