Touch pad stopped working
Laptops always have an option that says wether to use the internal pointing device (your touchpad) or an external mouse or both, enter system preferences and make sure that your internal pointing device is enabled

I had this exact same problem and believe me, I flipped out too. I took mine into Best Buy though because it was only 5 days old and the guy from the Geek Squad showed me that there are the touch buttons above the keyboard and the one with the square box with the finger pointing to it actually locks the touchpad just so if you are using another mouse, it will not interfere. So try hitting that button and see if that works.
