Most Likely it is a problem of RAM, First of all pull out RAM from the slot then gently rub at bottm end the side which is in the slot with Rubber. Now Fix it again,
Turn your computer on, if it work OK otherwise Replace your Ram.

Computer wont come on

does it boot up completely or just a blink of logo or ?
could be power failure due to what?? power module, cpu chip fan
failure, clock/battery dead, ...just searching my mind for ideas.
could also be a motherboard capacitor over heating in which case
will fail completely at some point. remove chasis and check those round capacitors(like tiny oil barrels shape) all over MB. if bad they will be swollen at top where the + is. if cpu fan is not spinning then a failsafe error happens so cpu won't burn up. how old is machine?
also, ac adapter may be failing to provide power.

Turn on cpu and it doesn't boot

open your pc panel, look for the heat-sink fan over your cpu(processor). there is a small fan over it and if it is not spinning your PC will not boot. could be a wiring issue where the wires(white/red usually) are broken or not connecting to motherboard good enough. check those but be careful no to break wires or connections. you may need to replace the heat sink module. if any capacitors on motherboard are swollen(little cylinder looking objects with + mark on top) will indicate overheating and motherboard may have failed. if fans spin on heatsink, then pc boot file may be damaged where then a shop will cost to fix it. fans will be the cheap fix else$$$

Gateway GM5442 PC Desktop Won't Boot!

3 BEEPS -RAM

Guest Posts: n/a 01-24-2005 We had a power failure in the office this weekend. All the systems are back
up and running fine, except for the receptionists. It's a Gateway
Professional Series. P4 1.3 Ghz. It is giving me three beeps. No boot up
screen and no video source (monitor light stays yellow instead of turning
green). I looked up the beep code and it says three beeps means the ram
needs reseated. Which I have done several times. Also, I have just put in
one stick in difference seats. I have also reseated all the cards at least
three times. I have switched the jumper to try to boot into setup mode.
Nothing there either. Popped out the cmos battery and put it back in. No
good either.

Has all the ram been fried? The fan on the cpu is still spinning. The cd-rom
ejects. I can't hear the hard drive spinning. I guess I can swap the hard
drive for a different one.

Anything I'm missing? YEP

Gateway gt4010, wont power on.

The fan turning off will be the cause of the PC shutting down.
This could be caused by a faulty fan or bad connection to motherboard.
1. try reseating the fans power plug on the motherboard
2. if that doesn't help, try replacing with new fan.
3. if that doesn't work then most likely motherboard problem

Is there a new motherboard i can buy for my e6000??

Sure, and with years of experience you might be able to replace it and have it work. There are tons of little wires that have to go on the motherboard in the exact location (most likely different) and many in specific directions (the + side has to connect to the + terminal). By the time you add a new chip, memory (new motherboards require newer memory type) and CPU fan, you can get a complete stripped PC from Tiger Direct or New Egg. Plus you'll have to reinstall your OS as your current version is looking for your old hardware and will "blue screen" as soon as you boot. A use PC, heck they are selling "dual core" as used. A 2.5 or 3.0 Ghz dual core will be very fast with XP. You can reuse your old XP license if needed, you'll need to call Microsoft and go through that hassle. A used PC will have an OS installed. Many companies sell their PCs after 2 years. So that's what's required, is it worth it?

I have a gateway profile 3 the cpu fan wont come on it gives warning fan absent or broken and wont to go no farther.

First make sure that the CPU fan is properly connected to the motherboard. There is a connector on the motherboard that is usually labeled CPU_FAN.

If the fan is properly connected, but isn't working, a replacement can be purchased for a reasonable price. Check with Gateway or your local computer supply shop and they will be able to help you find the right fan assembly for your CPU.

Hope this helps. Please take a moment to rate this solution. Thanks.

No display and wont boot

A Blinking Amber or Yellow power button means that the power supply is receiving power from the source but is unable to properly distribute it to the components. This can be caused by a defective power supply or a defective motherboard. Power supply is easier and cheaper to replace.

Pc Seems to be dead wont load bios post moust doesnt work or keyboard or monitor

I have the same problem, the CPU fan spins, keyboard lights blink, no start up screen, or bios.
But, when I push a few times on the pc reset button, then the CPU fan is becoming still, the keyboard light are out and I can start the computer again in a normal way.
Can this one be a temporally solution for you too? Do you have any suggestion about?
I guess it can be an electricity dysfunction of a wrong fixed cable.

If the CPU is dead the problems can be
  1. no power
  2. no fans etc or
  3. power, no beeps (errors)
If the Ram is not compatible it would be constant beeping.

With the board in, and power supply 20pin + 4pin Pent 4 power attached,(#2 and #7 of motherboard layout) remove power cord from power supply.
CLRCMOS0 allows you to clear the data in CMOS. The data in CMOS includes
system setup information such as system password, date, time, and system
setup parameters. To clear and reset the system parameters to default setup,
please turn off the computer and unplug the power cord from the power
supply. After waiting for 15 seconds, use a jumper cap to short 2 pins on
CLRCMOS0 for 5 seconds. Remove the jumper. Remove heatsink and fan from CPU. disconnect cpu and reseat it. Re-install heatsink and fan. Plug in the power cord. Try to boot up. If it still does not boot and (no power, no fans etc.) problem would then be cpu is fried.
