Question about Dell Inspiron 1525 Notebook
I have a dell inspiron 1525, and i tripped and dropped it yesterday and the screen cracked. The top half of the screen is fully functional, but the bottom you cant even see. Would it be cheaper to buy a whole new computer or buy a screen and replace it?
On a dell 1525 the replacement is pretty easy, definitely costs much less than replacements of the manufacturer if you can do it yourself, there are laptop repair guides websites that guide you through the repair step by step, but you should have done something like this before, there are also third party laptop repair places that can do it for you.

As you can see, it's $110 buying a new screen. So I think that would be the cheapest option.
Here is a guide to how you can change the screen http://computershopper.com/laptops/howto/replace-your-laptop-screen

I would recommend locating a local computer repair shop that doesn't have a well known name around your town.
They tend to keep many extra parts of laptops lying around and it's as simple as finding a match and replacing the LCD panel.
The smaller shops may have better deals than the larger, but it might be smart to contact Dell as well on the same matter.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
