1 Answer

Wrong cartridge I forgot to reset when I put new black cartridge in my MP110. Now it says wrong cartridge. It's not the original cartridge, but i use them for years now. Never a problem. But because it says wrong cartridge in the display i cannot enter the menu....can you give me a hint or trick how to get into the menu. I pressed it several times on my printer but i still cannot get into it.

Only if you do not want to use the MP110 again. If you don't uninstall it, when you print a document, you may select the wrong printer.

Office jet 5510 keeps saying wrong black cartridge.

Look on the right side where the cartridge goes, if the spring on the right is hanging loose it might have poked a hole in the ribbon cable at the rear near the contacts. If so it's time for a new printer, if OK, check the exp. date on the ink cartridge and if it's been refilled or a generic ink you may just need another one.

Just loaded new color and black in cartridges - printer says we're out of ink. What is wrong?

1: check if you used the compatible series cartridge
(should be a series 9)
2: some refilled cartridges don't work good if original
3: open the printer, hold the cartridge holders and drag them from left to right and right to left side fastly
4: if still does not cartridges are bad.. dell gives 2 year warranty on cartridges get it replaced if are new original

Alarm says "wrong cartridge"

That happens when the print head sensor does not detect the cartridge.

To start unplug printer power cord for two minutes, and see if this can reset the error.

The wrong cartridge error may be caused also by a bad cartridge, therefore ,as first step you need to est a different cartridge, possibly a new original one.

Check also if the cartridge metal sensor inside the ink carriage is dirty and must be clean, in this case use isopropyl alcohol and cotton to clean metal contacts inside the carriage.

If that cannot fix the problem, then there is a lose connection on the wires connected to the ink carriage / print head assembly. TWhen that happens, the wires connected at the back of the ink carriage must be tested and eventually replaced.

D7360 - Wrong Cartridge - Use cartridge shipped with printer

Try updating the printer firmware with a new cartridge installed (C8721W). If that doesn't work I would go to town on the thing with a sledge hammer so you can get some enjoyment for your $100.

Wrong Black Cartridge installed error message

Use original cartridges. Nowadays some companies resort to this cheap trick wherein if you put refilled cartridges, the printer wont work, giving errors and does allow you into head alignment tool..

Best bet is to use original inks.
