Error message "Remove and check color cartridge"

There may be debris that is blocking the communication between the cartridge and the printer. Remove the cartridge and unplug the printer from the power supply. Take a little bit of rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab and wipe off the contacts on the cartridge as well as the contacts inside of the printer. Allow both to dry for a few minutes before plugging the printer back in and re-installing the cartridge. This should clear up any miscommunication between the two.

Cannot print, scan or copy. Continue to receive

Hi,
Solution
  1. Remove and then reinsert the cartridge indicated in the error message.
  2. If the error is still displayed, clean the contacts. Click here to see how.
  3. If the error message is Error. Remove and Check Black or Photo Cartridge , the following steps may help:
    1. Remove both cartridges, lower the latches, and close the printer access door.
    2. Turn off the unit by pressing the On button on the front panel. Wait for the printer to completely shut down.
    3. Turn the printer back on by pressing the On button.
    4. When the message display reads Insert Print Cartridges , open the access door and replace the cartridges.
  4. If neither of the steps above fixed the problem, either the cartridge or the printer is faulty.5. Replace Cartridge. Please rate my response!!!Thanks,SF

All the lights keep flashing --won't print!

I removed the black ink cartridge that was REFILLED at a popular retail outfit and replaced it with a remanufactured one I bought on the web. As soon as I closed the lid, the flashing stopped and it has been working GREAT ever since. Many postings had already recommended the changing to a "new cartridge" to remedy this flashing lights and "pen failure."

Get "remove and check print cartridges" on printer, a new black cartridge has been replaced but still get same message.

Hi,

Is the new black cartridge that you fitted made by HP?
If it is not I would try with a new HP cartridge, I would also try replacing the colour cartridge.

I get the message "remove and check print cartridge" on my hp 2410 printer. I Replaced the black cartridge and still the same. I do not use color and have had cartridge in for a couple of years. Any way...

I don't think so. Printers usually won't print unless it can detect both cartridges. It doesn't matter whether the colour one is empty or full, as long as it can detect it you can usually still use black.

Remove & check cartridge message

What you could try do is to remove both cartridges, close cartridges cover
Unplug printer for awhile, at least 30 minutes
Plug in printer and wait until printer stop
Reinstall both cartridges
This is to let the printer reset and do a new installation of ink cartridges
