Hi gmallard, it doesn't have a lint collector. This machine is a piece of junk. We're going out today to buy a new one after years of brushing down our clothes with lint brushes. I'll put the Maytag in the shed to wash my dogs pillows etc. (about all it's good for)

Of course you've probably already done this but if not, check the filter and clean it. Additionally, you might need to wash it to remove residue from dryer sheets and BE SURE TO DRY IT BEFORE PUTTING IT BACK IN THE DRYER. If the filter is clean and washed and you're still having lint, get a dryer brush and clean down in the area where the filter goes. Also go to the vent area outdoors and clean that with the dryer brush. That area can become clogged over time and prevent the dryer from effectively removing the lint. Furthermore, check the exhaust piping. If it is bent, gently move it a little to dislodge any lint that might have gotten stuck there over the years.

Use a fabric softener such as sheets sold to include with laundry in dryer. Shuts down a lot of static-cling. Also be sure to clean your lint filter frequently to save energy and dry clothes faster.
