How to change password for wifi

1 - Enter your router's address in a browser window. In the URL field, enter one of the following numbers based on the model of wireless router you use:
  • Belkin, Microsoft, and SMC:
  • Qwest (AKA CenturyLink), Netgear, DLink, Senao, Trendnet
  • Apple
  • If you don't see your router listed here, search on Google for your router name and include "default IP address" to find the correct information.
  • On a PC, open the command prompt (click on Start > Run/Search for "cmd") and enter ipconfig. Look for the Default Gateway line, and try that number.
  • On a Macintosh, open Network (System Preferences..., Network) and look for Router:<number>. This is your router's IP address.
  • Enter your router's user name and password, if requested. Not all routers require that, but if yours does, it should be listed with the documentation. If your router does require a password, but you didn't set one, the default password is usually "admin." You can usually leave the username field blank.

Go to your settings page. It may be called "settings," or "wireless setup," "preferences," or similar name.

Locate the password setting. It may be a field or tab named "password," "wireless security," "security key," "passphrase," etc. If the field is directly editable, enter your new password. Otherwise, click the tab or button to access the password field.

Enter a new password. If there's a second password field, re-enter your password exactly the same way, capitalizations and all. If not, just enter the password once, but be sure to enter it carefully, and make note of it until you have it memorized.
  • When finished, click "OK," "Apply," "Submit," "Save," or whatever button finishes the process.
  • Close your browser window: your password is changed.

Lynsksy E1200 tried to reset. my passord and network name are of no assistance. After running software, router is not found. Tried using "admin" for both but nothing works. Please advise. ...

Reset your router back to it's factory settings by holding the reset button for about 5 seconds. I have provided a list of the most popular router brands. If it does not work you may need to google what your specific model's default IP address/default username/default passwords are, for example search for "Encore ENHWI-2AN3 default IP address" The default login info can change, it can depend on where you obtained your router. If you purchased it yourself from a store then the standard defaults should work. If you obtained your router from your Internet Provider you may need to contact your service provider. It also may depend whether it's an old or new model router as well. And you may need to press and hold the reset button on your router several times before it actually clears. Make sure you have a wired connection then once you have accessed your router simply run the Setup Wizard. Set your SSID as something you'll remember like "Mavericks Network" and your Password can be something like your phone number for example 3109876543

I am trying to configure my new NBG4115 3G router connexion, but when I try to connect to the Zyxel setup screen via the Tilgin home screen appears. My present router here in our home is...

Either your web-browser has "cached" the web-page previously delivered by the TILGIN,
or your computer is still connected to the TILGIN.

In the former case, "reload" the web-page.
In the latter case, turn off the TILGIN router, and try again to connect to the ZYXEL router.
Also, check that your network-cables are correctly connected to one of the LAN ports on the ZYXEL router.

You can change the wireless name (SSID) and the wireless password by accessing the setup page. To access the setup page, do the following;

Open internet explorer or firefox and type in It will ask for username and password. In the username field, type "Admin" , A in Admin should be a big letter. In the password field , don't type anything. Hit enter in yout keyboard and you will see the set-up page. In the set-up, look at the right side and click Wireless Settings and you will see Wireless Network Name (Also called the SSID) , and change that. Other routers taking over my router connection even when password

Its possible you have no authentication setup on your router. At the very least, please setup your router and all devices in your network to have WEP authentication. If your router and devices can handle it, please setup WAP or WAP2 authentication (instead of WEP). This should make your environment a lot more secure and prevent others from taking over your router.

I cannot connect to wifi in my ipod touch

Change the router encryption or create an encryption as WEP using your Zyxel router.

The connection in your college is maybe unsecured or no security?

- Try also to check the settings of your router make that unsecured or configured a WEP encryption to the router.
- Turn off the MAC filtering of the router (Under advance settings)
- Disable the wifi-protected setup of the router (Under advance settings)

- Refresh the network list before reconnecting to the network.

Note: As we try WEP encryption to some of the router, the IPod can connect to the network.

Unable to connect my wifi laptop to my existing wireless b/band

Your wife's laptop is setup to connect to another wireless network. It must be set up now for the wireless network that you are trying to connect to. This means that your wife's laptop is trying to connect to the wireless network somewhere else. You need to let the laptop look for available wireless networks. It should be able to see your wireless network. It will then require you to enter the password that you have set in your Zyxel. If you don't know the password, call Zyxel.

How do i make my network wireless?

1 - Connect your router to your modem.
2 - Connect your notebook to the router. This is temporary, until you get wi-fi set up in the router.
3 - Start up a web browser, and type in the address - this will access the web setup interface of the unit. Leave the name field blank, and type "admin" for the password (you should change this, once you have it configured).
4 - Setup the internet, etc, and make sure it's working.
5 - Go into wi-fi settings, and create an SSID (essentially, this is what the unit will be called). It probably already says "linksys" in that field. Change it, then create a key (it's a password) for your wireless network.
6 - Save your settings, then disconnect your notebook from the router. Reboot the router.
7 - Make sure you have wi-fi activated on your notebook. Some do this automatically, some don't. It should "see" your network, with the name you gave it during setup. Click on it to connect, and you'll be prompted to enter the password you assigned during setup.
8 - Go surf wirelessly.
