Question about Apple WIRED REMOTE 4 ZEN MICRO Remote Control

Multiple tv sets

I have 6 tv sets hooked up to 6 dishnetwork receivers in the same room.
Each has its own rf satellite remote control so there's no problem changing channels individually. The problem is with the power and volume controls as the tv's are all sharp and everytime I bring the volume or turn the tv on or off on 1, they all respond!!!! (each tv set is attached to a threadmill)
I woul ideally like to have a wired remote to the tv hust to control the volume and power...and also for the person using the threadmill to be able to put his or her headphones to the remote???
Is there such an animal????
Any help greatly appreaciated

You don't need a wired remote to the TV to control it. A keypad or RF solution is the way to go. You should contact Total Control Remotes ( They are based in the tri-state area and can give you a control solution. They did work in my office that has a similar etup.

Good Luck

With the multiple TV's what you are looking to do is called "IR routing" There is not exactly a "pre-packaged" solution.

Try one of these companies I think all of them can handle this:

I would have it professionally installed. You can find a professional in your area using the locater on the websites.

Hope that helps!

I have two RC65RX remotes set for RF. One operates the DVR from one room and the other operates it from another locally. Both remotes have a problem with making the receiver work properly. If for example I...

On r15s, for rf, you need an antenna on the remote f-connector. I usually took coax with one connector on it and the other end strip 6 - 10 off with only center conductor exposed. The rf board is on the same board as the modem. Not the front panel board. Frequency is roughly 413 - 417mhz. All coded by the last 6 of rid number.

My remote will not turn the tv on or adjust the sound, it will change channels

First, try pressing TV on the remote, check if that solves the problem. Then press Sat and try the TV power button again. If the remote previously controlled the TV, you lost the code for the TV. If you have your Dish Network manual, check if you wrote down the code when it was originally programmed. Which specific remote/receiver do you have? The programming directions and code lists are available here: . You can also scan all of the codes to find the correct one: see . Additional remote/receiver manuals are here: .

The direct coding procedure for the Dish remote that I have is: while facing the TV to be controlled (after adjusting the key for TV1/TV2 in a multiple TV system), press and hold TV until all four indicators light up. Then enter the 3 digit code. Press and release the # key. Then see if the code TV powers off when you press Power. Then press Sat and check if the TV power button works. Try additional codes if the TV doesn't respond.

If you recently got a new TV and you tried to program the remote for your TV, your dish remote may not have the code you need. (Most universal remotes are limited to codes for devices released 6 months or more before the remote was programmed.) In that case, you should use the TV remote (and see if it has an option to control the satellite receiver). Alternatively, get a new universal remote that will control all of your devices. (The remotes that can be programmed by USB are the easiest to set up.)

I hope this helps.

Can i hook up an old tube type tv to a new high satellite dish? i dont care if i get high def picture just want a regular picture.

Yes there is an option for ouptuting 480i signal from most hd receivers. You will need to check the specifics for the satellite dish receiver as to the channel that the TV should be on as well as how to set it to the resolution that you need. (I know some Dish receivers need channel 60 for the SD TV (coax (RF) connection) when it is TV 2 but channel 3 or 4 for TV 1.) Also check your TV so that you can use the best possible input available.

However, you may not be able to read the closed captions unless you enable them on the receiver. (Apparently, the encoding has changed.)

The manuals for some satellite company receivers are on their website. For example, Dish network manuals are here: . Their manual for the Solo VIP 211k describes connecting the receiver to a SD TV on page 91 (page 97 in the PDF version).

I hope this helps.

(I'm not aware of any satellite system that doesn't use a set-top box. If you do not have a receiver, then the above does not apply and you may not be able to get a signal.)

After setting up a new tv, the dish remote will not work with the satellite. what could be the problem?

If I understand you correctly, once you installed your new TV, your DISH remote doesn't allow you to change satellite channels. If this is correct, you will need to readdress the remote to the receiver. I have provided a link with these instructions. Included with the link is instructions for programming the remote to your TV.
I hope this helps.

Activation of RF remote RC64

The manual for the DirectTV RC64 remote that I have does not show a 9-6-1 code anywhere. There is a 9-6-0 to set a button on the remote to match the TV's source function. The manual for this is here: . There is a RC64RB remote that does have the RF transmitter and uses the 9-6-1 code to set it. See . Except for E-Bay, the only site with the RC64RB replacement remote in stock is Replacement Remotes, .

I suspect you have the RC64 remotes that do not have the RF transmitter. I wish that I had better news for you.

Satellite connection to tv doesnt recognize

At least you know the set does work. I'm also assuming your satellite receiver is working and that all your cables are good.

There are two ways to hook up to the TV: RF (antenna) and the A/V jacks. Maybe the seller was using the RF input (the threaded round connector where you screw on a cable connection, then choose channels with the set's tuner), and you're trying to connect using the A/V jacks (the red, white and yellow RCA jacks). If that's the case you need to switch the TV to those inputs. You may need the original remote to do that if the TV doesn't have a front panel TV/AV button.

The other possibility is you're connecting the satellite receiver to the RF connector and the TV isn't on the right channel (usually channel 3 or 4). If you're using the RF input, have the TV autoprogram and it should find the channel. Most sets can do that from the front panel menu button.

Hope this helps. Thanks for sing Fixya!
