I have an LG 47LN5200-UB TV. It comes on and is backlit and plays sound but doesn't show any picture. I replaced LEDs after it went out last week and the flashlight test pointed me in that direction

SOURCE: I have a LG 47" LED TV. The picture is gone. It has sound. I see no tiny lights after that flash. There was a popping noise right about the time the picture went out. Model number is 47LN5200-UB

Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be on a separate board, or on the part of its main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

I have a LG 50LN5200 TV Model # 50LN5200-UB. Sound but no picture, unplugged for 3 weeks, turned on worked for 10 minutes then same, flashlight shined in screen reveled a picture in there. Can u help

The backlight leds need replacing, you can get replacements very easy around $40 a set however it is a tricky job if you have not done it before, the lcd panel must be removed without damage, the backlights are stuck to the metal cover behind lcd panel.

My TV is a LG 47LN5700-UH I had a lightning strike near the house. Afterward TV would start but not boot completely. Now it won't start at all. Cable box also got fried at the same time.

The led driver AND the T-con board are bad. If you could see a picture with the flashlight then the T-con board would be good. It is not. The led driver can be on the main board or the power supply board. You can get these parts from here: TV Parts Universal TV Stands DLP Chips ShopJimmy

Recently replaced the LED strips on a LD 47LN5200 TV. Now I get a faint showwing of the LEDs on the picture Di I reassemble the difuser incorrectly Is the a correct sequence?

The film sheets and diffuser are orientation-critical and need to be reinstalled in the exact position and orientation that they were originally installed in. If you did not carefully lay them aside without disturbing their positions, then it will be almost impossible to get them back to normal.
Another possibility is the LED strips that you replaced are not staying adhered to the metal frame. Did you install new thermal adhesive tape to the strips you replaced? If the strips come loose and move closer to the diffuser, the LED outlines will show through.

LG TV with sound and no picture

I would suspect the back light itself but the control board could be it as well. The only way to eliminate the light is to hook it up to the proper voltage source and test it independently.

How to fix LG 47LN5200 TV?

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement.
