Question about Singer CE-200 Quantum Futura Computerized Sewing Machine

1 Answer

Singer 451K125, bobbin case is stuck in place - I pulled on the bobbin case latch to release it but it won't come out. Followed instructions to get needle at top position, can see some thread hanging about. I'm new to sewing machines and wish to understand how it works, plus do some sewing. Help please!

Thanks. I've turned it forwards and backwards - it won't come out. I took it to a shop and they believe they may damage it if they force it out. They also consider it beyond economic repair (or don't have confidence to tackle it). Looks like I'll have to strip it myself and make it work! Do you know of a good service manual?

How do I get the empty bobbin out of bobbin case. Singer sewing machine

Most bobbin cases have a release latch that allows the bobbin to drop out of the bobbin case. In the following link, it is the flat lever with the hole in the center that extends across the entire width of the bobbin case--it just lifts up. The other projection is the finger.

Singer 306w bobbin case handle has broke off & can not get it out of the machine. Please help!

Try to remove the hook assembly. The handle on the bobbin case is also part of the latch. Using a large needle to release the latch may work.

How to thread the bobbin of a singer 90s

First make sure that the needle is fully up (use the hand-wheel). Move the bobbin cover release button to the right and lift the bobbin cover out of the way. Remove the current bobbin, if needed. Hold the new, full bobbin so that the thread comes off the bobbin counter-clockwise when you pull the thread. Place the bobbin into the bobbin case. Pull the thread through the slot near the bottom of the case and to the left. Place a finger on top of the bobbin. Next bring the thread left further towards the back of the bobbin case until it stops in the second slot (near the 8 o'clock position if you compare the position to a 12-hour analog clock). Pull the thread back through the groove in the cover plate until it is cut by the thread cutter at the top left of the cover plate. (The thread will turn a "corner" to the cutter.) Replace the bobbin cover.

Singer has the manual for most of their sewing machines here: http://www.singerco.com/support/instruction-manuals . The direct link to the manual for the 90S is http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/26e7243ab52aaed42904377fea7b090541eb0c9b.pdf . See pages 16-17 (page 18 in the PDF for the English description) and pictures that may be better than the verbal description.

I hope this helps.

Why the bobbin casing won't snap into place

Usually you need to hold the little latch open until the bobbin case is seated in the machine. Perhaps this video will help;

Bobbin case wont stay in place when I sew

Most bobbin cases have a latch that must be released to remove or install in the machine. Be sure to hold the latch open while you insert the bobbin case into the machine. Rotate the bobbin case slightly until it feels seated. Then release the latch. If the bobbin case is not latched in place, it will continue to fall out whenever you begin to sew.

I can't get the bobbin case to stay in

are you sure that the bobbin in the case is the right one for the machine firstly, and also that it is in the right way? Then check that it has gone into the rotary hook correctly, there is usually a latch you use on the bobbin case to lock it into place, like a little flap you pull out, put it into place, then release the flap so it locks in.

If you don't have a manual for your machine that details the above then you can download one from the singer website. http://www.singerco.com/accessories/instruction-manuals, type in the model number only and click on "search", wait for the screen to build and you should see your model with an icon beside it "Free Download", click this and again wait, its a large pdf file so will take some time to download to screen. Once you see it, click on the Clipboard icon to save it and browse to a local folder where you want to save the file. You can then view it when you need it or print it out to bind and keep with the machine.

Threading the Bobbin

Place the bobbin in the bobbin case making sure the thread feeds clockwise. Draw the thread through the slot on the case. Continue to draw under the tension spring and through the opening pulling out about 6" of thread. Hold the latch open, position the bobbin case into the suttle and release the latch. THe case should lock into place when the latch is relaeased.

With the top thread, hold out about 5" to the left. While holding on tot he top thread, turn the hand wheel toward you and you should see a loop at the feed dogs. grab the two thread and bring them behind the presser foot.
