I have a 40 inch smart tv i don't know how to set up . I have a wireless router for internet . I have an ethernet cable attached and it tells me no signal . do i need hdm1 or something

I am assuming you have a smart TV. If not, the best you can do is have the TV act as a monitor for your computer. If it is a smart TV, it must be connected to the internet by one of two ways. 1. wireless: Most smart TVs have Wi-Fi built in. In order for this to work, you need to have a Wi-Fi system in your home. Your TV manual should walk you through the steps to connect to your in house network. This will be different depending on if it is secured or unsecured. 2. Hardwired: If you have a hardwired internet setup, you need to run a Category 7 (Ethernet) cable from your modem/router to the Lan connector on your set. Does the TV, you didn't supply the Make, Model, have a Wireless Adapter? Connect the Belkin, you didn't supply the Model, to the ISP modem, connect a Ethernet cable.

If you don't know it you can check our list of default router and modem password list here. If you have changed it and don't remember it you may have to reset your device to factory default using the reset button on most routers.
First you connect an ethernet cable from your computer to one of your lan ports on your router. Then you go to http://192.168.2.1 and log in with the credentials username:admin password:smcadmin. From there you can change the wireless password in the settings.

If you have DSL or cable internet, disconnect the ethernet cable going from the DSL or cable internet modem to the computer. Disconnect the end of that cable that plugs into the modem. Connect an ethernet cable from your cable or DSL modem to the router where it says something like "modem", "internet", or "in". If the router is a wired router, connect the ethernet cable that is still attached to the computer to any open ethernet port on the router.
All of the ps3 models support wired and wireless internet. All you need is high speed internet service, and a router (wireless router if you want wireless internet o.~) you plug the router into your high speed modem via ethernet cable. then you plug your computer and ps3 into the router with ethernet cables. your good to go! if you want wireless for your ps3 you need to use the wireless setup on the ps3. your done :)
