I have two HD,
one is Seagate SATA 80 GB which is installed on the CPU.
CPU is 2.8 GHz Intel.
Second is Seagate IDE 80 GB which I try to connect with this SATA system by removing CD Rom Cable and connecting it to IDE and connecting power cable. Also there is no jumper on this drive as I want to make it slave. Also there is no Operating System on it as I used to make backups on it.
When I started the system, Both drives are displayed in BIOS but the order in which SATA system trys to boot is invalid (it is trying to boot from my IDE drive which is non system drive)
I tried to change setting in Boot Order of BIOS by selecting SATA drive first and then saving this configuration but still no effect.
Any Solution!!! Thanks in advance.
Best Regards

Dear,
You have to make IDE drive as slave. For this put the jumper to slave in IDE drive. Possibility of CMOS battery is rare, but you can confirm it by checking your system time in BIOS. If system time is ok then there is no problem in CMOS battery and you need not to replace it.
Thanks,

Hi,
The most likely reason for this is that your cmos is not saving your boot order settings due to a loss of memory. If your main board has a cmos battery, try replacing the cmos battery.
Let me know if this helps.

Thanks both of you Mr. Graemevm & Rakesh Kumar
I have checked the CMOS and it is fine.
Now how to set the jumper of seagate IDE to slave as I have removed the jumper from it to make it slave (company default setting is if there is no jumper then it is slave). SATA Drive also has no jumper on it to make it master drive.
In this case how I can set it to slave?
Thanks and Regards
