I absolutely cannot get my paddle attachment off my mixer. We've tried everything, including WD-40. I don't know what to do!!!!! Help!!! We've been using the mixer with the paddle still on, and then cleaning the paddle. The button will not push in and the attachment will not slide up or down. Nothing works. Will I have to replace the mixer?

Same problem -- I used to be able to push the paddle up and twist it to get it off, but now it won't move at all when I try to push it up.

The advice given is NOT helpful at all: if the paddle cannot be pushed up, it cannot be twisted. The pin is in the way. It's definitely not a case of "stupid woman, you're just not turning it far enough." >:(

I had the same problem and I put veg oil on the top of beater and wrap the beater with a hot towel. I then lightly tapped the bottom of the beater until it moved up enough, then I tapped the side. Finally I tapped the top and it came off.

,first time user and the bowl is stuck in new artisian mixer. what do i do

Apply WD40, with the pinpoint sprayer straw attached, all around base and twist in the proper direction as hard as you can! (We had to wrap the bowl in that shelf liner rubbery mat stuff to get a good hold on the bowl since the handle came right off as we were initially working on the problem!) This worked for us. Hope that after 236 days DMLiss might have found another solution??!!<3+

I cannot remove the mixer attachment from the mixer. It will not move, or twist to the side to release.

Use a small amount of vegetable oil to lubricate the beater shaft and
the beater. Slightly tap the beater up and sideways with a rubber mallet
until you can move the beater easily along the shaft.

One of my blades is stuck and I can't engage the release

Make sure your Beater can slip in and out of the Beater Shaft
easily. Do not force the beater onto the Shaft if the shaft is bent.
If it cannot be removed easily by hand, use a soft rubber mallet
(not a steel hammer) to slightly tap the beater so it can be moved
up and down the shaft or from side to side. Then you can easily
turn the beater left and remove it from the shaft.

From Kitchenaid Manual:
To Attach Flat Beater, Wire Whip, or Dough Hook
1. Turn speed control to OFF.
2. Unplug stand mixer or disconnect power.
3. Tilt motor head back.
4. Slip beater onto beater shaft and press upward
as far as possible.
5. Turn beater to right, hooking beater over pin on shaft.
6. Plug into a grounded 3 prong outlet.

Whisk attachment is stuck on mixer.

I took a small crowbar, and put the curved end up inside the whisk, and hammered the other end lightly. After about 20 taps, the peg was lined up with the sideways opening so I could twist it off. When I got it off, it looked like there was either flour inside the part where the whisk attaches, or some light corrosion was going on. Either way, I'm going to put a little grease in there so it doesn't happen again.

I cannot remove the attachment on the kitchenaid mixer. I used the paddle and now I'm not able to remove it.

Hello. I can assist you. I also have this mixer and I can tell you from experience. You have to lift it up about 1/4 inch and then twist it a small amount and pull it down and out. You can not hurt it so don't worry about using some force when you do this. Good luck with it.

My 325 Watt Artisan mixer's adapter won't come off? How do I get it unstuck?

To remove the mixer attachment I belive you must press up on the attachment to lock the inside gear into place. Once it is locked into position you can now twist to the left to remove the attachment. once removed you can pull the shaft back down to unlock the gear.Hope this helps.

Blender attachment stuck on

As far as locking the gearhead, no, at least not without taking the planetary off of the mixer shaft. You would have to take the chrome ring loose by prying down gently, and there is a pin holding the planetary to the shaft, a punch would need to be used to drive it out, then you should be able to work it off the shaft and make the whole planetary easier to work on. The only other thing you could do would be to use a penetrant spray, wd-40 or something similar, let it settle into the attachment area, and try some more, sometimes it just takes time, and repeated application to free up.

Can't remove beater from mixer...

I took the advice from:
I put a wash cloth in a pot of boiling water and used tongs to wrap it around the beater shaft while the mixer was resting on its side. When the wash cloth was not too hot to touch, I put it back in the boiling water and did it again. I was then able to easily remove the beater.

Bistro Staned Mixer;Mixing bowl is stuck(?) to base

You have to twist the bowl anti-clockwise to release it from the base. Twist clockwise to lock it when using the beaters.

Flat blade stuck on KA stand mixer

Using one of the bowls, filled it with hot water up to the shaft and where the paddle is hooked up. Using a cotton cloth, wrap it around the paddle and shaft, let it soak for 30 to 40 min. After 30 min, twist the paddle back and forth to loosen up whatever got stuck inside the shaft and paddle. Put a little of mineral oil so that the paddle will be easily remove and it will just slide out from the shaft.
