Question about Intel Motherboard

1 Answer

I cannot boot in either safe or normal mode. When attempting to boot in safe mode, the drivers will load, I wait, the screen goes black & I get the words "safe Mode" in all 4 corners, the cursor moves, but nothing else. Sometimes I simply get a blue screen with a moveable curor. When running a diagnostic I get "boot manager is corrupt or missing". I cannot run system restore. I have the Vista 64 recovery disks from HP , but the computer will not boot from them (the choice to boot from the cd never appears); however, the computer will run the Vista 64 recovery disk I got from the internet, but it cannot find an operating system to repair. I have one 200gb hard drive, however when I run chkdsk, it calls the drive X & says there is only 3 gb there. One more thing, while booting I noticed the opportunity to go into the raid utility by pushing crtl N. I never put raid on my computer & there is no evidence of it in the boot consol. The computer is an HP Pavilion with an AMD Quad core processor runing windows 64, 6gb of ram, 200 gb hard drive. Of course I do not want to do a clean install of windows because I have a great deal on my HD I do not want to loose. Thank you in advance for your help!!

First, check with HP for a boot disk for your particular PC.
You'll probably have to do a reinstall of an operating system, since restore doesn't work. Connect the hard drive to another computer and remove the files you need to save first.

Black screen on HP Touchsmart 310, any ideas?

i guess your computer is suffering from Software Driver Conflict.

because in safe mode, windows does not load any third party drivers, but its own. so your computer turns ON.

it it NOT AT ALL any hardware related issue, so you dont need to buy/replace anything.

tell me more about your operating system and your computer details, so i can help you properly

Black screen says multi(0) disk(0) rdisk(0) partition(2)\WINDOWS\system32

So far I see no problem. For some reason. you chose to boot Windows in safe mode. During that boot mode, the screen goes black and starts displaying lines of text detailling all the drivers it is loading. At the end of the process Windows will run in safe mode.
Try rebooting normally or rebooting to the last good configuration that worked.
If there are problems please be more specific.

Monitor goes black after boot up. I see the screen normally, then it goes black although the power light stays green

It sounds like a driver conflict or software issue with the video card. Try booting to Safe Mode by hitting F8 during the boot sequence. Choose safe Mode with Networking to maintain your network connection. Safe mode loads a generic display driver and will allow you to troubleshoot any issues with your existing drivers and/or software.

I cannot get passed the loading screen. Doesn't boot up. Just seems to go in a loop.

Hi, try go to safe mode ( before loading screen, press F8 and select safe mode, ) if it goes on to safe mode, goto; Start ->Run..->type msconfig ->goto stratup startup.
uncheck all the entrys, and boot the machine normally, if it boots normally, start adding the entrys one by one, until it failes to start. report back.

When i boot up i can choose to start windows normally : safe mode/ w/o networking blah blah but when it boots up the screen just goes black and never loads windows, What are the suggested problems, and/or...

Well first off, when you say 'but when it boots up the screen goes black', what option did you pick? I would try selecting 'Safe Mode with Networking" and see if you can't get into windows. If you can't get into windows in *ANY* mode, you're probably going to have to reload/repair the os instalation. If you can get into safe mode, install 'malwarebytes', an antimalware software, and see if it comes up with anything. If not, I would say that it could be a driver issue.

Dell Inspiron 1545. When booting to vista the screen goes black. When booting to safe mode the screen works normally.

Please reinstall the Video Driver and check if the same issue persists. If the issue started within last 90 days, you can try the System Restore

Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop..the screen goes almost black after 5 minutes.

The screen goes black while in normal mode right? So try to boot in safe mode (power on then keep tapping F8 then select safe mode). Check if still happens in safe mode.

If screen does not goes black in safe mode it means there might be a software or driver causes problem when running in normal mode. You can try the following (update your anti virus software then run a full system scan, uninstall the video driver then download and install the latest one, uninstall any previous windows update or you can system restore to the time when it was working fine).

If the screen goes black even in safe mode they try connecting the laptop to an external monitor if still goes black, if yes then absolutely no issues with the LCD panel. You can try (uninstall and reinstall the video driver if still persist then this might end up replacing video card or motherboard, but before doing that update the BIOS first).

If does not goes black in ext monitor then the LCD panel might causes the problem. Reseat the LCD cable or inverter if you can.

Black screen nothing loading

One of your driver is acting up. start in safe mode, disable one of the drivers (DVD or whatever) then close and try to start normally. If the PC starts then reinstall the driver.
