-   I had the same problem - lense cap on - here is what I did to fix it: My husband took the lens cap off, placed the camera t in the sun for about an hour then flicked (not banged or beat - just a light tapping) and now its working. He said condensation, dust, etc may have made the lense stick. Good luck!-   Guest

-   I have the same problem.
When i bought the jvc everio gz-mg57 cam from CURRYS (around a year ago) in the first 4months it started to display " remove lens cap ", even though it wasn't on.
So i went back to CURRYS and requested a refund or replacement, but "the best they could do for me was to repair it", I thought What the FCUK!!!
With no other solution i gave them it to repair (6weeks later) in time for my African safari holiday i collect it. You have to a safari it's fantastic.
Guess what?......within 4months same problem.
Went back to CURRYS and they still fed me the same bull, but this time my warranty has run out BY A DAY!!! Now they say it will set me back £100. I paid almost £400 when the JVC everio gz-mg57e came out.
Anyway....Are there any DIY solutions i can apply? -   joe Don

Our JVC GR-D33 camcorder has nothing but dark grey and black on display. this is both thru the viewfinder and the LCD. Sound is working fine. Playback of previous tapes is also fine, both audio and video. when we first turn on the camera to record, a message comes on that says "lens cap", even though the lens cap is off.
