If the water heater shuts off again unplug the white the sensor plug underneath the thermostat (The black plastic box). Then plug it back in. This sensor plug has a black and white wire going to it and it's possible the plug could have been loose going into the thermostat..
If the problem persists you will need to contact the manufacturer at 1-877-817-6750 and they can assist you.

Those dirty crooks, Only kidding. They did the same thing to me a while back, except it was a natural gas heater with lp tank out in the yard, bought it from the gas co who services the tank, found out they ordered a dozen heaters, all of them natural gas. I said to the guy, do these need to be switched over or jetted or something? He says why, I said because it says natural gas only. It worked fine, just smudged black smoke out. He brought out another heater and swapped it out, seems you can't change the burner? Don't make sense. Anyway, I would take it back to the place you got it and say get up the coins, It cost $400 to get the plumber back to hook this thing up!! And we have no hot water. And my shotgun has a hair trigger. I would say it is dangerous enough to get his attention on the matter without going to court. Hope this helps.

Can Richmond tankless heater which is now LP be converted to natural gas?

If it can, then it is done with dip switch settings.
Read your product manual.
Switching types of gas, and messing with dip switches is dangerous.
LP gas burns much hotter than NG, and LP pressures are much higher than NG
Call Rheem with serial number and they might supply the information to you, but will likely tell you to call service technician... leaving you in exact same spot you are in now.

Richmond powervent model 6G40PV-40F Lockout 4-2 blink. What's wrong. What do I replace to fix?

1) Rheem-Richmond does not post service manuals:
Copy following link to identify service manual by type of gas control valve:
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-troubleshoot-gas-water-heater.html#intellivent

2) For lockout, the air intake might be clogged or combustion parts dirty, causing overheating which will break TRD glass vial. Gas control may need to be replaced. Reset gas control by rotating knob to lowest temp for at least 6 seconds.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-troubleshoot-gas-water-heater.html

3) Call Rheem or local service tech.

Have 75 gallon gas water heater. Can I run 90 PVC off top power vent without vertical PVC first? Have Richmond unit.

1) I believe you can immediately elbow the PVC pipe.
There is a limit for how many elbows can be used between blower and termination, and limit is determined by diameter of PVC pipe.

2) Copy following link for venting resources and typical Rheem and Richmond power vent manuals, and diameter-elbow pdf from Bradford White.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-troubleshoot-gas-water-heater.html#venting

3) Richmond is Rheem. Product manual will show specifications for venting.
Product warranty is voided if installation does not follow specifications shown in manual.

My Boch 24ES Highflow Hotwater is showing Code 14 and only runs for i minute then shuts off

Code 14.
What water heater do you have?
Question posted under tankless Bosch, but these error codes start with a letter.
Rheem/Richmond etc Tankless has error code 14
http://waterheatertimer.org/Troubleshoot-Rheem-Tankless-water-heater.html
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/Paloma-Tankless-Error-Codes.pdf
Call tankless service technician.
Ask technician how much it costs to have recommended yearly service.

Or install whole new tank-type gas water heater yourself for $350 from local box store, and avoid the entire headache, then sell tankless online for parts.
