Gateway solo5300 with a blank screen

I was given a gateway solo5300 and when I turn it on it sounds like its running but the screen remains blank, if it is hard to fix does anyone know how much it might cost me to get it fixed? I don't know a whole lot about laptops so thank you to anyone who responds.

Hi. I would try to borrow if you don't have one a seperate monitor. The specs for your machine indicate it has a monitor output. Try that?

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Wireless switch on model solo 5300

Hi. Not enough information. Do you want a switch? Do you need to FIND a switch? Is it a Gateway notebook?
The specifications for the Gateway Solo 5300 do not indicate a wireless system as part of the original unit.
See:
http://support.gateway.com/s/manlib/Notebooks/Solo5300/8508144/8508144.htm

Most units with PC100 memory (like this one) did not come with wireless. You will likely need a wireless PCMCIA card.

Blank screen upon startup

Try taking out the hard disk, plug in power and see if you have a display on your screen or external monitor. if same thing happen, try taking out the memory card. If you hear a beep sound it's a faulty mem. card, if no beep sound appears I suspected it's a motherboard faulty.
