My TV just started turning off and on - light blinks from red to blue and back again. Initially the delay went from 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 15 mins and now today it took over 2 hours for it to finally turn on. I am not able to turn off the power once I turn it on initially and it is in the middle of it switch off/on ****.

I called my cable company and its nothing to do on their end.

Your problem involves 4 electrolytics on the power supply board. There are (3) 1000 mfd @25 volts and (1)220 mfd @16 volts. The power supply board is situated in the middle of the set slightly off to the right. It is held in with 4 screws and has 2 small harnesses on it. The 3 1000 mfd in the set that I was repairing were all swollen at the top and when I ran them on an esr meter sure enough they were opened. The 220 actually tested ok but was a little swollen at the bottem so I changed it anyway. After replacing all caps, normal operation was restored. Thanks, Jack from Staten Island

Tv lights blink, tv not turning on

HI, the fly back transformer has failed in your unit. this will occur if the dust level is high inside the set. the dust will settle on the cooper windings and, create an arch that will short out the entire power sector of this unit.

The fly back is usually the first to take the hit. replacing this will fix this issue.

Hisense LCD Tl2020

I, also, have the Hisense LCD 1504 and cannot turn it on with the original remote. I have to use the ON button on the side every morning. You have to hold this button in for a while then wait a while and presto, the blue button shows on the front and the picture comes on. If it fails to work the first try, just try try again. It does work for me this way. We had this same experience with the TV in our room at a Hotel where we were on vacation and the TV worked fine when we turned it on using the side ON button. It just takes a while for the picture to appear. Hope this clue will help someone.

To unlock your Tl2020 with a universal remote just go into the menu and select V chip setting. The password from the factory is four zeros (0 0 0 0 ). Once you get in you will the letter "B" nect to everything. Set everything to the letter "U". Then, turn off the television. The set should be unlocked now. Good luck !
