If it is cranking, starter and egnition are fine, it could be fuel pump, If you can get someone to turn egnition ON, while you put your ear as close as you can to the fuel pump maybe the back seat or in the trunk, you should hear it humming, means its working,

SOURCE: 1999 Ford Windstar. engine stalls.

You know, lookinig at this problem more, you have more possibilities of what may be wrong:

  1. Your idle speed may be incorrect
  2. Fuel filter may be clogged or water and impurities in your fuel system
  3. Possible damaged coil pack or wires
  4. Emissions sytem components faulty (a sensor, catalytic converter, muffler, etc.)
  5. Faulty or incorrect gapped spark plugs
  6. A vacuum leak at the intake manifold or vacuum hoses (check the hoses for cracks or damage)
  7. Fuel injection or engine control systems malfunction (ECM)
This should keep you busy....at least with the easy stuff to inspect.

SOURCE: 2003 ford transit diesel fuel getting to injectors

Have your injection pump checked. If the diesel fuel feed
going to the pistons is not highly atomized, there's no way that the diesel fuel gets to explode to keep your
engine to run. However, also check the air filter system
going to your engine. To get the diesel fuel to explode needs right air fuel ratio. Once these are checked, I'm
sure you get your diesel car running.

Are there any faults with the renalt traffic van

yes plenty firstly its a renault which means encrypted software ,the 3.3 litre diesel engine is fine but the gearbox /powertrain leaves a lot to be desired with most vehicles suffering from vibration which is either caused by the flywheel as it has a rubber bond to absorb shocks which goes wrong and a front pulley thats bonded as well ,also the diff unit is prone to go out of align causing a vibration as well ,best vehicle i would advise is a ford transit or a merc vito the sprinter isnt bad either but the opel and the renault use the smae engine and suffer from the same faults of vibration

I have a ford ka y reg done 75000 miles what type of oil should i put in someone told me 15/40 and another said 5/40

what is Y or 52 or whatever ----please state year ,anyway use the cheapest oil you can buy from supermarket for a diesel/petrol synthetic or natural ,viscosity ¿¿ well 20/50 10/40 is plenty good enough and change the oil every 6000miles and the oil filter every third oil change and this little kent engined ford which is unchanged since the ford anglia 1962 first used this engine and it will run forever ,and yes you can mix the oil if your just topping up.I remember working in the factory 40 yrs ago building these engines at 3 engines a minute on the assembly and in them days we used shell rotella oil and it went in every type of engine from the dorset diesel (D series) to the transit V engine and the york 2.4 diesel to the zodiac V6 3 litre ,now their was a nice car if you can one .

Ford transit connect ran out of diesel and wont start

a lot of times if u turn the key on and off without startig the engine in a quiet area you will hear the fuel pump kick on do this a few times then try to start the engine. If you cant hear the fuel pump that may be the problem, another solution would be to remove the injecters and clean them
