Unpairing wireless keyboard

I have 2 Dell computers in my home office. The keyboard on my husband's computer stopped working so he replaced the batteries but it is not working. In the meantime he used the wireless keyboard from my computer. Now I can not upair my keyboard from his computer. My keyboard works perfectly on my computer but the problem is it also types on his at the same time. The Dell chat was no help. Anyone know how to get my keyboard unpaired from the other computer's wireless.

It all depends which Operating system you are using. If windows you must know that they have a closed architecture. So, the only option left is go to registry. For the time being what you can do is right click my computer .. go to properties and then hard ware tab and device manager. There you will find keyboard. Click the plus sign select the keyboard you are using and right click and uninstall drivers.. This is all to be done your husband machine.

Wireless mouse does not work after changing batteries.it always has in the past The Dell computer and mouse is probably 8 years old but has always worked.

Try moving the mouse receivers usb plug in to another port. Unplug any new devices and restart computer. Then replug in any new usb devices.
If still not working.......
Look at Office Depot and other office stores for a replacement wireless mouse. I have seen them as low a $9.99 on up. You might even want to upgrade and get a wireless mouse and keyboard set.

Move the wireless adapter (one end connects to the keyboard/mouse ports on your computer) closer to the front of your computer, i.e., closer to where your wireless KB/mouse are located.

Dell wireless mouse and keyboard-no instructions

Most Bluetooth keyboards and mice are just Plug-n-Play and does not require any driver installation. You need to isolate the problem, please follow the steps below:

1. Make sure that the wireless adapter of your wireless KB and mouse is properly connected to the USB port of the computer.

2. Make sure that the USB ports of your computer are working.

3. Use fresh batteries for the KB and mouse.

4. After connecting the wireless dongle to the computer, turn on your KB and mouse (there should be an ON/OFF switch underneath).

5. Briefly press the connect button on the wireless dongle and then hold down the connect button underneath the mouse for five seconds and then release it.

6. Do the same steps for the KB.

Have a good day!

Adding a computer to wireless at home

1) Go to the computer that is connected directly to the Linksys router.

2) Open up Internet Explorer (or your favorite browser).

3) In the address bar, where it says "http://www...." clear out everything in there and type in the following numbers:

192.168.1.1

Press "enter" on your keyboard. This will open up a dialog box asking for your username and password. Try leaving the username blank, and type in "admin" for the password.

Now you're in a web page that controls your router. Look for the Wireless section, and make sure wireless is enabled. Check for wireless security as well, because you may need to enter a long number in your computer once it finds the router.

If you still need more help, feel free to ask.

Dell Wireless Keyboard interference

with that kind of distance the likelihood of having the keystroke signal picked up by another computer is very small even under ideal conditions. Even using a bluetooth wireless keyboard you're only "optimal" within about 30 feet.

Without the bluetooth setup i don't believe there's a way to connect the keyboard only to the one computer. Your best bet for a solution is to move them as far away from eachother as practical. Repositioning the reciever on the effected machines so they're less likely to pick up a signal further away (lower, and closer to other electircal / electronic equipment) should help as well.
