Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
My Canon Pixma MX 310 prints and copies with smears eveuy seven lines or so. I went through all the suggested remedies in the troubleshooting guide, (exept reloding the drivers, which I donto think could be the cause of smearing. Then I went to try cleaning off th rotrusions. I see looks like ink on the foam that is below and in front of the protrusions. Might this be causing the smears? If yes, what should I use to try to clean the the ink off the foam? Any other suggestions?
You need to clean the bottom of the printhead, and use a Q-tip to clean the wipers on the clean station that is on the right side where the printhead parks. There are 2 or 3 squeegees there that wipe the bottom of the printhead and when there's too much ink it stays on the printhead causing the smears.
