Does sound work when not using the monitor (loud enough)?
Check both ends of cable are correctly plugged in.
Are you sure the cable is correct (some jacks are not very precise), and working with other equipment ?
Is there an OSD setting to enable the sound or volume on this monitor ?
Your monitor driver or graphics card driver may be corrupt go into DEVICE MANAGER Find your graphics driver if any yellow marks next to it it has been corrupted. right click on driver and click re install driver. if that doesnt work go directly to your computer manufactuer site and get the driver there that should cure what ails your monitor.
Did you get a driver disk with the monitor? It may be as simple as loading the driver and then your computer will find the signal.
If that doesn't do it, I would contact the store I bought it at and talk with a technical person there. If that didn't resolve it I would contact Packard Bell.
You may have already thought of all that but I couldn't find the answer on the Packard Bell website.
This issue is caused by missing drivers. You may need to install the drivers (Video card drivers and the Display drivers), the setup will set the adequate resolution for the display so the images will be displayed correctly.
Is this a flat sceen or is it an older monitor? It's got to be an old monitor, unless the viseo on your motherboard has been dameged by power spikes. If it's a CRT type, the large one, it will cost to have it fixed. Cheaper to go on the Internet and order a Flat. There's lots of them on eBAY, and the seller has to make good, and they ship it to your door.
Just finished a project a while ago getting rid of almost 100 monitors. They just burn out after 4 years or more.
