I've purchased a hp laser jet printer and inserted the disk for set up but the disc is not registering and i can't print i've added the printer to printer list but still not able to print.

    model no is p1005 i'm using the USB cable that connects the computer to the printer also the mac 10.5.6

    Thanks its downloading at the moment and it says its got 5 hours remaining so i'll email you later in regards to if i have any issues.

    no not dial up adsl (i'm in australia) now it says 15 hours to go? can i do anything to speed it up?

    no it wasn't. the one that tim gave me went for 24 hours  so i went to the hp website in australia and downloaded it from them and its all installed it was exactly the same as the one tim gave me to download. now its just not printing anything

What is the model number of the printer? What version of Windows are you running? How do you have the printer attached? You may need to install the printer then unplug and replug it in via USB if that's the connection you're using.

    Ah, ok great, thanks for the quick info. You will want to go download this file, and in the meantime disconnect your printer

    If you can't click on it just copy and paste it into your browser. The software on the cd has a known compatibility issue with Mac OS X 10.5+

    Once you have this installed go ahead and connect the printer (unless the installation of the file tells you to do otherwise).

    I guess thats just the fastest your connection will go down there to Australlia. This will definitely clear up the problem so I guess just let it keep going. I am monitoring the connection over here and it's fine, so if it errors out again its something on your end.

    OK, Kindly let me know the web address from where you downloaded your driver and furthermore, what is the latest error you are getting while printing if getting anything. Have you tried taking self test printout from your printer directly.

By load the toner, if you mean inserting the toner cartridge.Then i will give you instructions.In laser toner printer, there is toner cartridge, and not ink jet cartridge.In laser toner cartridges, there is a black color toner power and it does have any liquid ink, which ink jet cartridges have.To remove the laser toner cartridge from hp laser jet 1100 printer, its simple.The front door open and old toner cartridge comes out.Just pull the front door towards you.While inserting cartridge.If you have problem, then take note that, sticker side of the cartridge is towards you.On the cartridge there is a rectangle flap, which you hold in your hand.This is meant for holding the cartridge, while removing and inserting cartridge.The stick side will be in your side.There is a green color drum, the drum side will be on opposite site.-------------- Still any problem.Keep updated.But i think that will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

What is the replacement printer for HP Laser Jet


This document provides information about replacing the print cartridge for the HP LaserJet 1010 printer series, including life expectancy and replacement instructions. Print cartridge life expectancy The life of the print cartridge depends on the amount of toner that your print jobs require. When printing text on letter/A4-size paper at five percent coverage, the print cartridge lasts an average of 2,000 pages. This assumes that you set the print density to three and disable EconoMode. (These are the default settings.) See Ordering supplies for information on ordering replacement print cartridges. Changing the print cartridge Follow the below instructions to change the print cartridge:
  1. Open the print cartridge door, and remove the old print cartridge. See the recycling information inside the print cartridge box. Figure 1: Removing old print cartridge c00028312.gif CAUTION: To prevent damage, do not expose the print cartridge to light. Cover it with a piece of paper.
  2. Remove the new print cartridge from the packaging, and gently shake it from side to side to distribute the toner evenly inside the cartridge. Figure 2: Gently shaking new print cartridge c00028313.gif
  3. Pull the tab until all the tape is removed from the print cartridge. Put the tab in the print cartridge box to return for recycling. Figure 3: Removing tape from print cartridge c00035442.gif

Both Side not print


HP Laser Jet P3005s Network Printer doesn't print on both sides so you need to do that manually.

Check your settings......there is a setting for negative in the advanced settings. See if that is the problem. Let me know

Laser jet 2430tn printing slow


Check the way your print Jobs Spool up in your PC. you may have a totally different set up for printing in your new computer that takes two or three extra steps(such as spooling the print job) prior to actually sending it to the printer to be printed. If you have a user manual for your new computer, check the printer set up and see if it is set up to print directly to printer or print to spooling folder then to printer. Also try a different driver if you wish, I know the 2430 can use either PCL5 or PCL6 drivers... I'd start there and see if there is a difference.... the problem isn't your printer obviously its the way your computer is communicating to it. Best of luck to you.
