Find the tap on the other end of the line, turn it clockwise to close. Remove the nut the the tubing goes through. is you have a lot of slack in the tubing this is good, cut the tubing behind the rip and fish it thru the nut, hold the tubing in place and finger tighten the nut.On tap end open the valve a little, see if the solenoid end is not leaking, if it is leaking a little, tighten it up a little more until the leak stops. Then you can open the tap valve all the way.

Everything normal on my GE Profile Model PFSF6PKWBBB French door bottom freezer refridgerator except the water dispenser just quit dispensing water. Is it frozen? How do I fix it?

The paddle that you push the glass against to dispense water activates a microswitch. Sometimes this switch can break off it's mount and drop away from it's intended position. The microswitch operates a solenoid valve near where the water line enters the back of the fridge. Then there's the wiring in between them. The water line doesn't go through the freezer. It runs through the refrigerator in a coil of tubing then into the door of the dispenser. Check the paddle switch, the water solenoid and the wiring and you'll find the reason it doesn't work

Water dispensor will not shut off right away

The solenoid valve for the water dispenser is normally up near the freezer section. Can you hear the valve click when the paddle is released? Could just be the water line draining out.

Water not getting into machine to do a wash

Check to see that the hoses on the back are not kinked....then check to see if the water is turned on at the faucet.....if still nothing, then the water inlet solenoid inside the washer may be defective...you can initiate the wash cycle and listen for a click/pop type of sound near where the water lines go in...if nothing is heard, then the inlet solenoid may be defective

My ice maker is working fine. My ice dispenser is working fine, There is no water from the water dispenser. When I push the button, I hear a click but no water.

I had this same issue with my GE refrigerator and figured out it is a common problem with these units. The water line freezes up near the dispenser panel. Fortunately, GE has an inexpensive solution, a water line heater, that fixes the problem with little work. Check out my blog post on my ge refrigerator water dispenser not working for complete details.

Ice maker installation

do you have a water supply line connected to the refrigerator? if so, it connects to the water solenoid, so you wont need to install that. if you have no water line, not only do you need to install that, but you will also have to check to see if you also need to install the solenoid assembly. if no solenoid is present, you will likely also have to run a plastic water line, ¼", from the solenoid up the back wall into the sleeve near the top of the back wall, which feeds the water into the freezer, into the icemaker.

if you want to send a check, id be glad to post a video

Ice trays not filling with water

I know where the solenoid is, my question is I have water pressure into it, but not out of it, no warranty, trying to fix it myself, is this the probable cause of my problem, or could it be something else? I can hear what sounds like water running near the ice tray, but can't figure out where it is, also, when I recently filled the fresh water holding tank, it spilled over inside before spilling over exit tube of holding tank. Is this connected?

Water leaking from freezer down to refrigerator at a slow drip.

There is a solenoid that controls the water flowing to the ice maker in the freezer. It is usually near the bottom of the fridge on the back. It may be covered by a cardboard or metal back that is easily removed by taking off a few screws. There will be one water supply line coming into it and one or two water supplies going out. When the solenoid begins to fail it sends water to the ice maker when it doesn't need it causing an overflow in the ice tray which leaks down into the freezer giving it a kind of glacier effect. Real easy fix though. Just replace the solenoid on the back of the fridge. I bought one online for around $20 and it is very easy to do. If you have water in the door and an ice maker it will be a dual solenoid. Turn off the water supply, disconnect the water lines,  take the solenoid off the fridge to get the part number. Google it, Get it, put it back in the way you took it out, turn the water supply back on and your back in business without a costly ripoff technician.

Ice maker stop working

YES ... MOST PROBLEMS WITH ICE MAKERS THAT SUDDENLY STOP WORKING IS THE WATER SOLENOID STRAINER IS CLOGGED OR THE ORFICE INSIDE IS CLOGGD.(USUALLY LOCATED BEHIND THE FRIG. WHERE THE SMALL WATER LINE CONNECTS). THE STRAINER AND ORFICE IS USUALLY ON THE "INLET" SIDE OF THE VALVE.WITH BUCKET AND RAG NEAR-BY, TRACE THE SMALL WATER LINE AND LOOSEN EACH NUT TO SEE IF YOU HAVE WATER. SOME WATER SUPPLIES USE A SMALL "SADDLE VALVE" FOR TAPPING INTO A WATER LINE. THEY CAN CLOG TOO ... YOU CAN TEST TO SEE IF THE SOLENOID VALVE HAS POWER TO IT ... BY TAKING A METAL BUTTER KNIFE OR NAIL FILE AND HOLDING IT CLOSE TO THE TOP OF THE SOLENOID (coil) YOU SHOULD FEEL THE MAGNETIC PULL IF IT IS ENERGIZED. IF IT IS ENERGIZED AND YOU HAVE WATER ALL THE WAY INTO THE BACK OF THE FRIG ... THE PROBLEM LIES SOMEWHERE ELSE.
