I have a vizio plasma tv model num VP422HDTV10A.When I plug it in the standby light comes on for a few seconds then goes off no buttons work and screen comes on white then black. No sound either

Green flashing 3 times = digital DC - DC converter fault
Red flashing 3 times = scan circuit fault

I had the same exact problem.
I removed the bulb and cleaned it. There is a small screen at the top of the bulb and it was covered with dust. Once it was cleaned I replaced the bulb and it solved the problem.

This is most likely caused by the Main Power pcb.

A competent service technician should be able to implement the service bulletin.
A similar service bulletin is probably available for your model. Request bulletin from Fujitsu '[email protected]'

Plasma tvs do not have "back lights" LCDs do. you probably have a bad driver board along with the upper or lower buffer board or maybe both, best to have a tv shop look at it.
