Make sure filter is installed properly (no covers on end of filter) and water is on. If water in door dispenser does now flow, sometimes it may take a few moments to fill up again as there may be air in line.

I would try the backwash as you suggest. Also, I had to run a few gallons of water through a new filter, for it to work properly..

I understand the correct manufacturers number for the PuriClean II water filter for your refrigerator should be UKF8001 or UKF8001AXX, that you have the correct filter, and you have plenty of water out of the dispenser when the filter is not installed. If all that information is accurate you have 30 pounds or more water pressure (although the minimum is 20 pounds the higher the pressure the better for flow will be), then I would try holding the filter under the faucet to be certain the water flows through the filter without a lot of resistance. If that checks out, I would look for a gasket or some other part from the old filter that is stuck in the filter housing.

Water does not flow

Sounds like air in the line.....the filter may be cracked/damaged, or not quite seated...?

since you've tried 2 new ones....I'm gonna bet they are not quite the correct ones for your fridge.

I changed my filter, PUR 4396841 and now it is vibrating when I stop dispensing water. Any suggestions? Do I have it installed correctly?

The vibration is a tiny bit of "water hammer." Previous to your filter change, the water flow was restricted, and therefore incapable of causing water hammer. Now that you've changed the filter, the flow is large enough to cause a little water hammer when you shut off the flow.
How to fix: shut off the flow SLOWLY. Water hammer is caused when the flow of water is shut down quickly. This is just as true with large flows (as in fire engine pump panels), as it is in itsy bitsy
filtered water lines & filter housings.

Water dispensor is not working. ice maker does work. new filter

If the filter is the only change made.. look at the new filter.. are all the 'seals' etc removed? so water can flow through it? is it installed in the proper direction? .. .. or did you replace the filter because no water was flowing? If that is the case.. and the filter is installed correctly.. something is blocking water flow.. maybe a frozen water line or clogged water line follow the water line from the dispenser end in the door, back to it's source. If the line is white- try to run a thin wire into it to see if it is clogged if it is clear, look for a blockage. If no blockage.. then it is blocked in the 'pump' or valve area or the pump/valve for the water dispenser is bad. there is some kind of lever to tell the water to flow when you put a glass under spigot.. check that- to see if it is stuck ( my ref door light switch likes to get stuck) .. good luck.

This is proabably not the case but I have seen it happen, Have you checked the outlet side of the filter to make sure it was drilled when it was made. Thank you

Replaced the water filter. the refrigerator is making ice but not dispensing water

Is there any packaging from the new water filter restricting the flow. Check for anything blocking the water flow near where you replace the filter and check for correct installation. If this problem was the reason you replace the filter check the switch that dispenses the water. Make sure it isn't "iced up".
