if the ac system is very strong and there a lot moisture in the air the a'c evaporator core will freeze up and stop air flow threw the cold core only use the recuiculation part to cool the car down about 5-10 min the turn the recuit off

Why would my heater blow out cool air when sitting still and then hot air when going down the road and then it's not all that hot

Try flushing or blowing high pressure air through the heater core lines. its sludge build up and need to be flushed through heater core only. check antifreeze fluid level. only put in straight antifreeze, do not mix. most people do not know what mixture should be, so be safe and add straight, it will not hurt it, i run 100% straight antifreeze and never had a problem or worry about it ever freezing and cracking my block, heads or radiator cracking.

My 2004 PT Cruiser overheats whenever I idle for too long and when my air conditioning is running and the car isn't above 2000 rpms I don't know what the problem is?

Hi Laura. It would seem that the electric cooling fan is not cutting in when it is meant to. Check the cooling fan fuses first, (there should be two, one for the engine and another for the AC) Take the vehicle for an inspection and a scan, asking the mechanic to take special note of the fans and sender units which control the operation. I am not sure, i have a similiar unit that is brand new, seems like a faulty mechanism from the maker, it starts cold for about 2-3 minutes and then shuts down condenser and blows hot air repeating this cycle. I don't believe it ias a recharge, just a faulty machine

The unit runs fine, but the compressor kicks on for 2 seconds and then shuts off, this just repeats over and over every minute or so. so it never blows cold air.

It could be a capacitor problem; however, more often than not, the compressor will fail to start at all with a failed capacitor. The sytem could be low on refrigerant causing the compressor to overheat and shut down. Another item to check before hiring a tech is to inspect all of your electrical connections and repair/tighten if necessary. Loose connections can cause motors to overheat and shut down.
Because you state "the unit runs fine" I'm assuming the fans are blowing air normally across the evaporator (blowing inside the RV) and normally across the condensor coil (blowing outside). Is this correct? If so, because the refrigerant level will need checked, you will need to have a licensed service tech look at your unit and offer his/her expert opinion of what your best options are.

Without having a toolbox in hand and being onsite to repair your system, I do hope you find this information very helpful to you in items to check yourself. Let me know if you have any further questions. :-)
