Hate to say it,but they dont have to fix it,remind him next time when you have to shell out the same amt rent for less creature comfort, till then go towalmart/shopko what have you and when you plug it in hope his electrical service is more up to par than his rooftop and can handle your new a/c.good luck!!!

Maytag 2000 front load washer still not draining after clearing the coin trap. What else can I do? How can I tell if the drain pump needs replacing?

It is not likely the drain pump is the problem, it more likely the circuit board that controls the cycles is defective.

Who can I call about fixing my HVAC

if you are renting a place and the HVAC is part of the equipment owned by the landlord, contact him and ask to have it repaired as it being his equipment , it is his responsibility to fix what ever fails according to the rental agreement

you need a new capacitor. look for wires going from fan to a silver item with wires on top. it must be the same size as old one.

My landlord installed this brand new out of the box. Our apt is 900 sq ft tops. This unit can't even cool down our living room and kitchen. If the whole 2 bedroom apt is 900 sq ft, you can imagine how...

The AC your landlord installed is rated at 8000 btu which is way too small for 900 sq ft. You need at least a 15000 Btu Air conditioner and a 'well insulated' house to be cool.
A good rule of thumb in the AC business says you need 1 ton (12000 btu) of Air conditioning for every 600 sq feet (if the house is well insulated) - if not - then you will need 1 ton (12000 btu) for every 400 sq feet.
So, if you have 900 sq feet and the house is well insulated you should have at least a 15000 btu unit.
If it's not well insulated you will need 24,000 btu.

WONT SPIN ON ANY CYCLE A FLAT BLACK PLATIC PIECE CAME FROM LATCH

well the land lord is responsible to repair or replace a unit(appliance) that is offered in the rental agreement ,,this is his problem assuming that you did not abuse your machine IE kids taking a ride in it, filling the washer to the point the lid dos not close and so on lol i`m certain you are innocent of this,,,,,,,Right ?
at any rate coordinate your efforts to repair your unit with your landlord, i`m certain that any good landlord will be reluctant but obliged to have this situation ratified landlord ,,,,,your fault is most likly with the lid switch it is a safety feature built into all washing mashines to prevent the spining action to ocer with the lid oppen this is to provide a prevention to personal phisical injeries

My carrier air con is only blowing cold air and i need the hot

It sound like the heating sequecer maybe have gone bad on the fan coil unit that you have. You need to call the maintenance personnel that does the work where you live or a service company out to repair the unit because since y0u only rent it is their responsibility to provide youp with heat and if by chance that you have a heat pumo unit then you definately want them to get on the roof to fix the problem. Remember to always change oyur filter inside when ever you get your electric bill because even though it's theeir unit it's your electric!

Motor cycles on and off. It is a roof top unit don't know how old. this is a rental house with an absent landlord. don't want to and cant spen much money on fixing but don't want to burn it up.

Is this on and off cycle rapid and irregular? If so it may be loose control wiring or a bad thermostat.

If the Cycle is not rapid it may simply be trying to satisfy a heavy heat load.

Cooks fine, but fan & carousel run slow and light is dim

It sounds perfectly normal. A microwave generally draws about 13 amps or more when cooking at full power. That's a considerable amount. This current draw will actually "load down" the power line, resulting in a small but measurable drop in the voltage. The decreased voltage means the light will be dimmer and the motors for the fan and turntable will run a bit slower. BUT if you ever have _chronic_ flickering, dimming or brightening lights in your home, it could be the result of a bad connection on the neutral, etc., which can lead to a very dangerous condition. Once in a while is okay, but if it happens a lot, your landlord or electric company should examine the lines.
