Question about Danby Portable Air Conditioner
We had a power outage on a Monday night; ran the air conditioner for the first time since then on a Wed night (2 days later). Air conditioner cools for about 1-2 min, then you can hear the compressor shut off, air stops blowing out of the exhaust hose, and then its just the fan running on the unit.
I've pushed the test/reset button on the power cord several times....in fact, the only way to get the unit to cool for the 1-2 min is to keep doing the test/reset sequence.
Does anyone know if the power outage caused something internally to fail? The power outage lasted about an hour I think
Well when u have outages the voltage drops obviously, the one that suffers are the capacitors the capacitor for the compressor might need to change, change it with the same capacity as the old one example if labels say 55 microfarady ( mf ) ( 55 mf ) get one of the same I am not saying it is a 55 mf capacitor vary depending on motor and brand. So check the label
