The following should fix it:

Press and hold both the center and menu buttons until the screen turns off. This will reset your iPod and it should be fine.

Keep in mind, that this problem is not your iPod, but an apple firmware issue, which occurs every so often.

Sound system doesn't recognise iPod

There should be a factory reset in the back of the stereo. If not there could be a small fuse in the back of the stereo. Either use the factory reset or unplug the fuse make sure is good and reinstall. This should clear the issue

I dont know what to do to my Ipod on itunes all it keeps saying is connect to itunes what do i do

Is the Ipod on when you connect it? If so, reset it and connect it again. If that doesn't work, check that the cord you are using isn't broken or your Ipod's jack isn't messed up. If it still doesn't work try a different usb slot on your computer.

It's stuck and won't play the songs

  1. First make sure that your iPod’s hold button is of. (This is the little switch at the top left corner).
  2. Move the hold switch to the on position and then move it back to off.
  3. Hold down the Menu button on the clickwheel and the center button at the same time. Hold these together for 6-10 seconds. This should restart the iPod. You’ll know the iPod is restarting when the screen changes and the Apple logo appears.
  4. If this doesn’t work at first, you should repeat the steps.
  5. If this doesn’t work, you should try plugging your iPod into a power source and let it charge. Then repeat the steps.

My iPod turns on but the buttons dont work! They were working just fine then they stopped! How do i fix it?

Try this! http://ipod.about.com/od/troubleshootingyouripod/ht/reset_ipod_nano.htm Difficulty: Easy Time Required: Less than 1 Minute Here's How:
  1. NOTE: First make sure that your iPod’s hold button isn’t on. This is the little switch at the top left corner of the iPod video that you can move to “lock” the iPod’s buttons. If this is on, you’ll see a little orange area at the top of the iPod nano and a lock icon on the iPod’s screen. If you see either of these, move the switch back and see if this fixes the problem.
If the hold switch wasn’t the problem do the following:
  2. Move the hold switch to the on position and then move it back to off.
  3. Hold down the Menu button on the clickwheel and the center button at the same time. Hold these together for 6-10 seconds. This should restart the iPod nano. You’ll know the iPod is restarting when the screen changes and the Apple logo appears.
  4. If this doesn’t work at first, you should repeat the steps.
  5. If this doesn’t work, you should try plugging your iPod into a power source and let it charge. Then repeat the steps.
  6. If this doesn’t work, you may have a bigger problem, and ought to get more help.

My ipod 5 gen 30GB won't turn on

First thing to try is a reset

To reset your iPod:

  • 1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  • 2. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

check your warranty
then here is the online service assistant

If you don't have warranty and the repairs would cost too much at apple

Ipod

If your iPod nano won’t turn on or respond
1) Make sure the Hold switch is off.

2) If that doesn’t work, connect iPod nano to your computer’s USB or FireWire port. Your
iPod nano battery might need to be recharged.

3) If that doesn’t work, your iPod nano might need to be reset.

a) Toggle the Hold switch on and off (set it to Hold, and then turn it off again).
b)Press and hold the Center and Menu buttons for at least 6 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

4) If that doesn’t work, you might need to restore iPod nano software.

IPOD ? playlist backup

If your IPOD is set to automatic song transfer, and you created an ?on the go? playlist, the IPOD will automatically transfer all songs along with the playlist. I haven?t tried the following myself yet, but this is the only way that I can think of: Cancel the auto transfer option ? from the source list in itunes choose the iPod icon and press on the options button. Choose ?manually manage songs and playlists? If it doesn?t work then I guess its more of a one directional thing, that you get more options going from the PC to the iPod then the other way around.
