I know the page says GE front loader but replacing the door gasket is the same.

This is a common problem with front load washers. Mildew tends to grow in these washers due to it use of less water than top loaders, often leaves dirt and soap residue on the machine. To help prevent mildew, wipe the door gasket, leave door and detergent dispenser open after wash. Wash once a month empty, with hot water and vinegar to kill the mildew in the machine.

It is possibly the motor brushes. worst case scenario is the motor complete.

Your problem is water siphoning because of the drain pipe too low or no air gap where the drain enters the wall. The drain hose from the washer should be at least 33 inches high.

Try removing the dispenser cup - and washing the inner cup thoroughly- run a sanitary cycle with whites and chlorine bleach mold and mildew likes to haunt these front loaders - be sure to run a bleach hot water cycle once weekly

Front loaders have to be situated on solid flooring such as a basement or they will vibrate.

After charging me $275 to change the water pump, the repairman said I needed a new computer board for another $160. I went & bought a new washer - this time a regular top loader mechanical washer with no computer. The repairman said computerized washers & front loaders in particular have lots of problems. He said top loader Whirlpools have the least problems.
