Re: Tranfer Unit

  1. Open the Top Cover on the printer.

CAUTION: Do not leave the Top Cover open for more than 10 minutes without covering the Imaging Units as damage could result. Use the dark bag that came with the Imaging Unit or opaque paper as a cover.

  2. Remove all four Imaging Units (which includes removing the Toner (Dry Ink) Cartridges attached to the Imaging Units). To avoid Toner spills, hold the Imaging Unit in an upright position.

CAUTION: Do not use warm water or cleaning solvents to remove Toner (Dry Ink) from your skin or clothing. This will set the Toner and make it difficult to remove. If any Toner gets on your skin or clothing, use a brush to remove the Toner, blow it off, or wash it off with cold water and mild soap. Do not attempt to use a standard shop vacuum or home vacuum to clean Toner spills in or near the machine. Shop and home vacuums are not equipped with correct filtration and will contaminate your environment.

  3. Raise the two gold colored latches (front and rear of printer) to unlock the Transfer Unit.
  4. Grasp both gold colored handles (center and right) to lift the Transfer Unit out of printer.

To install a new Transfer Unit:
  1. Remove the new Transfer Unit from its packaging or shipping materials.
  2. Grasp the two handles on the new Transfer Unit and place the left end into the frame alignment sockets.

  3. Lower the right end of the Transfer Unit down until it lays flat in the printer.

  4. Press down on both latches to secure the Transfer Unit into position.
  5. Make sure the Transfer Unit is latched into position. Lift up on the right handle to see if the Transfer Unit lifts up. If the unit does not lift it is latched correctly.
  6. Re-install the Imaging Units and Toner (Dry Ink) Cartridges.
  7. Lower the Top Cover.
  8. Dispose of the old Transfer Unit as normal office

Why is my Phaser 7400 printing a solid pink page? The Transfer unit is half pink. Is this why?

This may be a high voltage problem.
Am not familiar with this machine but is a generic fault.
Ensure contacts to drum/cartridge are clean.
If possible, unplug machine, open up and ensure all high voltage connections are good.
Good luck.

Xerox phaser 7400 replaced yellow toner, but still getting replace toner error. I've reseated it twice, reseated the imagining unit and tried turning it off.

You can try do a NVRAM reset. If after that you still have the error message then I would tell you to contact the Xerox team as you might have a wrong consumable (defected/wrong CRUM) information.

Xerox phaser 7400 I'm getting large black streaks that get larger as the print job continues. Is this the FUSER? or the TRANSFER UNIT?

That would be the drum 99% of the time. A fuser is what heats up the paper and the toner so it will stick properly. If it is "smudging" then its the fuser. But is it is lines sometimes with dots in them that is a bad drum.

Xerox phaser 7400

There really isnt an easy way to do that.
The transfer belt assembly starts off with a fuse on it to blow immediatly on install, and a counter that is internal so that it will end of life and have to be replaced. It's really not a convience counter but an obsolence counter.
