Check for 240 volts at range plug in( if you only have 120volts and you have fuses one of them is open, this normally wont happen with a breaker if tandem or two single poles w/tie handle),if you have 240 volts then w/range unplugged examine element,it may have a "hot spot" in it where its going bad, sometimes its discolored there and may be pitted youll be able to break it if its pitted/order a new element from "Appliance Pro's" prices service, shipping are great and reasonable

Oven not working, is it the thermostat or element

This will almost certainly be the element and is fairly simple to replace.

6200.5 fan works but no heat and light remains off

I suspect that from the symptons you describe that the fan oven element is faulty, the other possibility is that the thermostat is faulty, even if the element is faulty, the thermostat indicator light should come on.
Please rtate my solution.
Thanks.

The oven stopped working and heating up. The top range part works.

I suspect a heating element in the oven has burned out. Some ovens have 2 heating elements, one on the bottom for baking and one on the top for broiling. If this is the case, you can try setting the oven on broil and see if the top element gets hot. Usually the bottom element fails first because food gets dripped on it. In most cases you can unplug the old heating element by just pulling on it and plug the new one just as easily. You can check the resistance of the heating element with an ohm meter. If it's burned out the resistance will be very high, probably greater than a mega ohm. In some cases you will need to take the back off the oven to replace the heating element. Just make sure the oven is unplugged and cool when you start working on it.

Lower oven does not work. Ind. light comes on but no heat

It sounds like your heater element is burnt out. Get a volt meter.unplug the stove.take off the back, disconnet one of the wires connected to the element and test it. It should read aproximately 11 ohms if good. if a high or no readind, the element needs replacing.

Aeg competence b 8139-4-m - oven not heating up

your heating element is probably bad. all u have to do is, make sure the oven is off, pull elem. away from it's holders on the top or bottom of the oven, then pull the elem. loose from it's sockets then, straight out of the oven. take to home depot, or lowe's, or an used appliance store. installation is reverseal.
