Question about ICOM Informatique Icom IC-F11 5W 16ch VHF transceiver 2-Way Radio
I bought this GMRS1072CH - 10 Mile 22 x 38 Channel GMRS 2-Way Radio Twin Pack walkie talkie from USA and now iam in india..
first of all it cant get it to charge here from the same docking station as it only has input of 120 v and here in india its 240 v .. though iam using a different battery charger for cells to recharge..
and i really can figure out how the Vox works i did try matching the frequency manually..i could here and send voice but Is there any way it scans and pairs to frequency automatically? and battery dies quickly.
and how to maximise the output of my 2-way radio.
thanx hoping for quick reply with some step by step guidance. thanx
With the issue of 240V if the charger has not a Voltage switch, you will need to find another charger/transformer with the same Voltage/Amps ouput that works with 240V.
For Vox operations, this feature works independly form channel, you should choose the channel# and code # first, to match both radios, and get them communicate, then the Vox feature.
In Some radios the VOX feature works with an external audio accesory, in other radios works with out it.
Basically if this radios works without it, you should see that the radio transmist by itself when you speak direct to the radio, and stops transmiting 1 or2 seconds after you stop talking.

The first problem are the radios. They say 10 miles, but your lucky you will get two blocks in the city. If you want range buy two better GMRS radios like the Icom IC-F21GM. They have up to 4 watts and are repeater ready. Range comes from hight and line of sight. Repeaters are located on hill tops and extend your range. I'm not sure what they have in India but check if there are amy GMRS repeaters in your area. Carl

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
